I'm not a spouse but I really do need an insight with the military insurance.
I have a child with Downs Syndrome and my BF wants to get married but
I'm so afraid that the military medical/dental insurance will be a major headache and my daughter won't get the care she needs without me having to scream, holler and jump hoops.
I have great insurance through my employer but if we get married his insurance will be primary (because his birthmonth is before mine) He tries to reassure me that she will get the same level of care but I'm hesistant. When I lived on Guam (she was born there) it was horrible trying to get medical care at the Naval Hospital. Bad experience set the precedent for me to just work and provide her coverage through my employer.
Am I being overly paranoid or is it not as bad as I think it may be?
Any advice will be so greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

talk to tricare because I'm pretty sure your insurance will be #1 and tricare will take over any other costs...trust me they'll be willing to do that since they won't have to pay much out of pocket.

YOUR insurance will be primary. I just went through all of this with them 2 months ago. I thought the same as you, because that's how it reads online, but it isn't true. It would only depend on birthday if your DB was your DDs bio-dad.
