Dh stoped there a couple of months ago and he said it was nice and a place that looks like he would like to visit for vacation.

What's there to do?
Places to stay at?
Any sugestions on when to go and when not to go?

Hmmm ok the times I've gone there I've gone to Sea World, The Alamo, the Zoo, Ripley's Believe it or not.... hmmm can't think of what else I did. I'd ask Debra since she grew up around that area. I've been up there with DH twice and a couple times with Debra. :) Ooooh ooh and it's not that far away from me so if you go and I'm still in TX you know what that means!!!!! ;)

I was born and raised there. It's alright. Lots of yummy food, Riverwalk, SA Zoo, Sunken Gardens, Sea World, Fiesta Texas, Alamo etc. Eh, it's way over crowded now though.

when i was there for basic/tech school, there was the alamo, the riverwalk, sea world...a lot of attractions. i heard the air force inn on base is nice.

I love it there! DH proposed on the Riverwalk and we visit whenever possible. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Riverwalk, Clarion O'brien and at Plaza San Antonio... all were very nice. There's lots to do.. the zoo, the riverwalk, alamo, sea world, fiesta texas (theme park), museums and all sorts of other things..

I loved visiting The Riverwalk. It was so beautiful. There was also a huge mall there somewhere. I spent so much money when I was in Tech School. It really was a fun place to visit. I wouldn't mind doing it again someday.

The Riverwalk THANK YOU!!! I knew I was missing something lol. I loved the riverwalk it was so pretty when DH and I went. :) Didn't care for the sunken gardens though... there was a drought when I went and it looked like crap. :lol

I so hope you come to SA! I will pick up Stacey & we will head up there in a heartbeat!

I grew up there as well! Ditto the above! Plus there are museums like the McNay Museum, Witte Museum, Buckhorn Saloon & Museum, etc. Lots of missions which are really cool! Sunken Gardens was closed when we were last up there for the zoo a few weeks ago so you might want to check that if you do plan on going there! We love the Tower of Americas! :tu

Yeah that was the one thing I REALLY wanted to see when I went to San Antonio for the first time (I love Japanese gardens) and I was so upset that it looked like crap! :lol

I have a friend in Round Rock that we are planning on visiting, I think that's about an hr from SA, am I right? Is Round Rock further or closer for you girls?

We don't have to go to San Antonio TX but I'm getting ideas :) We are still debating about going on our winter vacation to Utah so I'm getting back ups just in case :)

Round Rock is outside of Austin. It is actually further away....about 4 to 4 1/2 hours from us (an hour to hour & a half from SA). SA is 2 1/2. But I know for me, the travel time doesn't matter! I'd go either place! I have family in both SA & Austin! :D ;)

Well um Utah is a bit far away from me. :lol I'm not sure when I'll be leaving I'm thinking sometime around November is when DH starts his terminal leave. Hopefully he will get his butt in gear and start posting his resume online to find a job so we aren't stuck not knowing where to go. :sigh

Eat at the Magic Time Machine. If you eat nothing else the whole trip, you will be stoked. Probably the quirkiest restaraunt I have ever been to and the prime rib is to die for.

We went there a lot! I went there my sophmore year for prom! It was awesome! You have to go on the potty train! :D

It's nice there aside from the humidity. I'm actually going back the 2nd weekend in July to visit my DB. We went to Six Flags when I went for graduation. That was a blast. I'm hoping to go to the Riverwalk as well as check out the Alamo this time.

If we do it we could sure then meet in SA :D We are just throwing ideas there to see where to go and what to do.

The time DH was there I was there with him... so yeah that wont work on him. :teehee It's ok though I don't really care to go back there anyway. I was there for a few months so I'm good. :D
