I didn't know the space shuttle was coming back today and the Sonic Boom just scared the bejesus out of me! Holy crap I was not ready for that... shook my whole damn house! I will return to my cooking as soon as my heart rate comes down from 400 beats a minute!:eek:eek:stars:stars

Nah! I love the booms when the shuttle comes home. (I live a little less than an hour from the launch pad)

:teehee I was visiting FL once and staying with some friends apparently the same time that a shuttle returned. The sonic boom scared the crap outta me too! I thought the house was coming apart. :giggle

It's always funny to hear tourists or new residents reactions to that. I lived there up until I was 18 and it was just normal. It was weird once I moved to not hear that anymore.

Usually I hear it but I was at work in the cafeteria at that time and didn't hear it. It usually is scary though.

It doesn't matter how many years I've been living in FL it always took me out of guard and scared the sh.. out of me!
Now I'm in N FL and I still hear them here and it still shakes my house! not as bad as when I was down in Orlando.
However I didn't hear it today :lol I don't just normally hear it but I can also feel it. Nothing today.
