Yep my DF is stationed there but currently he is in Iraq.

mines stationed there as well but hes in AFG

mine is there right now waiting to go (they told her it would be in May and still not heard a word yet)

I'm having a lot of fun, but getting to the point where I want to get back "home" and get stuff done. I was just laying here thinking about all the things I have to do once I get back. where in Texas are you? I'm in Austin right now.


I made myself REALLY sick worrying the other day and pretty much decided that I can't spend the next year like that. I was reading the news waaaaaaay too much, so I had to put a stop to it. I'm sure I'm still going to worry, but living in a state of denial is way better!

My best friend is down there, and Bryanna is there, too(she's usually online this time of night). I'm WAY jealous.

i dont watch tv anymore but the online news......driving me nuts. i feel like i'm always waiting. waiting for him to come online, waiting for a call, waiting for an email, waiting for a news update.

Dh is stationed there but currently deployed. I'm still in our hometown until he gets back and then I'll move there. I try not to watch the news too much. I understand whatcha mean Katz1981 I wait a lot too.

Yeah, seems waiting is the story of our life. My husband is in Afghanistan and I'm back in our hometown in NC. Fort Campbell is way too lonely without him. And as for the news, it's like a bad car wreck, you know you shouldn't look but you do it anyway and you kick yourself for it later. What FOB for those in Afghanistan?

I went down there this weekend to visit. I left our daughter there for at least a week or two to stay with her momma. I agree about it being lonely there. From the house, there is a pretty good view, but the place was dead even though they had the carnival and fireworks ( on the other side of the base). I figure that most that came for the carnival were civilians as most of the troops were deployed. If you like to eat, then it sure is exciting to be there or in Clarksville, otherwise, its pretty depressing.

I'm at Campbell. Hubby is in Iraq. I went to the Carnival last week and it was mostly civilians and spouses that stayed in the area. It was fun.

I have a 14 year old daughter that is spending a couple of weeks with her mom there. I will probably go back next weekend to pick her up. How long have you been at Ft. Campbell and what is there to do around there? Of course, my daughter does not know anyone there, so it is kinda hard for her to meet people. She will be staying with me for now and start HS soon.
