What is a detailer? Is it better to have one? John said that since hes going to be on medical hold he gets a detailer instead of the regular way they give orders. He explained that a detailer will show him all the openings for his rate and he gets to choose what he wants. It just sounds to go to be true.

Detailers are people who sit behind a desk and play "god" with our lives. :lol Detailers do have some orders that they can get for you if they like you. If you piss them off you are screwed. It shouldnt be that way but it is. They can see more than what is on JASS. It can be helpful to call his.

yes everyone has a detailer. JASS is the website you go to to view orders that are available. I think to choose orders now they have to talk to a career counseler and do an application that way.

All people get orders through a detailer. But students usually go into the office at the school house where the detailer has just gone down the list of names and given orders. Most of the time the student can request a coast or over seas and the detailer tries to put them in that area. But like it was said before if you get on your detailers bad side he/she will place you as opposite of what you want as they can. Good luck getting what you want.

Yes, just coming out of school I dont think they get as many choices. Its more where they are needed.

I think you got the answer to your question, but sometimes if you have a good NC/CCC in your command he/she can help you talk with detailers & get you the orders you want.

and you don't necessarily have to be on their bad side to get screwed, sometimes you just get put where they need you :D
