So, I'm supposed to fast after dinner tonight because I have my lovely glucose test tomorrow morning at 7:15.

I just look forward to this test so much, you have no idea. :whatever

I failed all of my one hour tests with all three kids, so I've had to do three one hour tests and three of the three hours tests.

I barely passed by three hour tests with my oldest two, then finally failed it hardcore with my youngest son.

So, we shall see what tomorrow brings.

I FEEL fine. I don't feel like I'm diabetic, but I didn't really feel all that awful last time, with the exception of the days I didn't eat very good.

So, wish me luck. I really do NOT want to go through the gestational diabetes again. :( I do not want to have to deal with poking my fingers and writing down every single crumb that I eat. I just don't want to do it again. And I DON'T want to have to do the three hour test again either. :sigh

They are really making you fast from after dinner? Is it just so you have the least amount of sugar in your body to interfere with the test? I ate the day of and didn't have any issues, I just made sure not to eat or drink anything sugary.

Anyway, :goodluck I hope it goes well so you don't have to do the nasty syrup 3 hr test!

Well, I think it's because I am a prior diabetic and so they like to get an idea of what my fasting levels are like, which I had to check each morning after I found out I had the diabetes. It gives you a good idea of what your normal "resting" blood sugar is without them having to guess whether a certain food or something might have interfered. The fasting level will tell a lot about what my normal range is and the fasting numbers are really important when you're trying to see whether someone is really diabetic or not, since no foods would be spiking the sugars up.

I didn't have to fast with any of my other one hour tests but we've been pretty much trying to play along as if I am diabetic just since the chance is higher this time around. So, I think the dr is probably just trying to make things easier on all of us by just doing the fasting one now and not having to worry about a certain food I had messing with the numbers.

But yeah, nothing except water after dinner :whatever

Ugh, good luck.. I failed the 1 hr. one because I over did it on the M&M's the day before... :no The 3 hr. one sucks, but I drank the sprite flavored stuff, so it wasn't too bad.

Good luck!! I failed the one hour with DS and then passed my three hour. I did not want to have to take the three hour with DD so I cant imagine taking it as many times as you have:(
