I'm glad my days as cat birthing coach are over! Every single cat I've ever had that went into labor always wanted me with her, but my Pilar was the worst! Completely dependent on me, after her following me and dripping everywhere, I sat with her all day once and one started coming out, so I got up, relieved, and she sucked it back in and jumped out of the box! Waited until she had two, then decided she was too busy to notice I was gone--I locked her up in my room, came in the next day, still only 2! Then she started popping out the other 5. Then the other time she kept crawling under my blanket and I kept knocking her into the box, and she yowled until I petted her head before she'd have them. Then afterwards she'd have to "lead me" to her kittens every time I came around, as though she was showing them off. Cats are supposed to seek out darkness and solitude, but not Pilar!
