Go figure I would get selected for review. :mumble
Anywho, I need some help and haven't got a response back today from the financial aid dept, so I thought I would turn to my smart SOS gals! :D
Ok, part of this worksheet is confusing the heck out of me.
It has a side that says "student" and the other side says "spouse if married"
Then it asks questions like how much earned income credit and then there is a space for the studen to put the amount and then the spouse and so on. But, I don't understand. We got 1,433 earned income.. we did as a married finally jointly its not mine and then again his. Do I write it down twice? On my side and his? I only wrote the child support I receive on my side since its my sons. At the bottom you write what your amount was and then the spouses amount and the source. Im sooo lost. I don't want to write it on both sides and they see it as double income. I have never had to fill this stuff out before last semester it was all approved. I don't know what I did wrong this time. I know I did everything correctly. :shrug
Has anyone filled this worksheet out before that can give me the rundown on it?
THANKS SOOOO MUCH! :hugs

I had to fill that out and if I remember correctly I only wrote that amount under his name because he was the only one working. I was a SAHM.

Hmmm I worked 2 mths last year and made $700 lol
All it asked for that applied to us was for the earned income amount/additional child tax credit and child support. Confusing mess! :gaah

I wish I could help but we never had those credits. Don't get too stressed though, I always got selected for verification too, had to bring in our 1040s and W2s. I would think you would just put it once though, since you only got one credit for the two of you.

And the first time I filed for financial aid I didn't know that I had to put down DH's BAH (I just put what was on his W2, BAH is non-taxable so hence, not on the W2 and I had no idea), so I got tagged for that and they yanked my Pell Grant :arg

Financial aid is a great big PITA!

I would put it under his name, Cori. He was the one that made the main income. Just put it under one side though... since it's technically for both of you, I don't think it will matter, as long as it is in fact documented. We always get verified too, but I am used to those forms by now! :lol

Good luck!

Thanks! :)
I will just do that. I will put the money for the credits and such under Josh's name and the child support under mine. And put DH's job as the source for his and child support for mine and hope that works. I can't go to school if my pell gets screwed up. Josh's $1000 monthly freeking tution that gets paid mostly by his GI Bill but still have some student loans for him so blah

:agree

I'm pretty sure this is what you do. Because you are technically a "dependent" of him.
