Not sure where to post this, but since it is about andrew, i guess it will go here, again.

I just want to thank everyone for their gratitude.
you have no idea how much it means for me and his family.

keep 2/7 in your prayers.
we lost 4 more guys yesterday.
thats a total of ten in one week.

Andrew's best friend is hurt, and they have yet to tell us how severe it is.

I just pray that they keep everyone safe.
At this point we need it.

If you have read articles about Andrew,
we haven't really released any information out about how he was killed.

I know the full story. One of the guys called me yesterday, and told me exactly what happened. It hurts to know the full story.

BUT what i will tell you.

Is that ANDREW FRANCIS WHITACRE.. died a hero.
he went back to save another fellow marine.
he gave the ultimate sacrifice.

He once told me, I'm NOT a hero, I'm just doing my job, so people like my Family can live in a free country.

But, he will always be my hero. I never got to tell him how much he truly meant to me, but if he looks deep in my heart. he'll find it.

For a couple months now, I have been slacking off with my writing letters to the troops, telling myself I was "too busy". But, reading your post made me go gather some more addressses, so I will be sending some letters out this week. There are a lot of heroes out there, and some of them haven't even been told they are yet.

Oh, hun, I teared up reading that. Your Andrew is most definetly a Hero. He knows how much he meant to you and that you knew he was a hero before this even happened.

I can't get you off my mind hun. I keep thinking of you and hoping you are ok. My hubby has been asking about you as well. I told him about what happened and he wants to make sure you are doing ok as well.

I feel the same way... after reading your first post in this thread, I immediately thought of John 15:13, "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."

He was a hero, in the purest sense of the word. You are my hero, you are a shining example of honor, dignity, and faithfulness to your love. You and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers for a long time to come...

Andrew truly is a hero! My thoughts and prayers go out to you, and your family (which includes his family)...and the men he left behind to continue his battle. I wish I had words that could comfort you, but it just seems like everything I say sounds silly...I just can't put anything I'm feeling into words, because this touches me so deeply.

We don't know each other, but reading your posts brought this to me. I hope you don't mind, but this is my only way of expressing my sorrow for you and my gratitude to your DF. I wrote this in his honor.
