I opted for no gemstone; I just have a band.
Main reason is because I work on car engines AND I'm an artist and I can't have a big ole stone get in the way.

If you know where your man got your ring from, you can look in their policies to know if your ring is conflict free.
I heard that its required for most diamonds in the states to be conflict free, but there could always be that sad reality that the company just says they are I suppose.

Conflict free as in the diamond wasn't obtained through violence, abuse, slavery, ect???
The response after my first post made me wonder :lol

Yeah I dunno if mine is. I guess I'd like to find out, but after being attached to it for a good 6 months, I don't know what I'd do if I found out it was :oogle

if you ask at the jeweler they're required to tell you where they got it from and give you a whole little pamphlet on conflict diamonds.
my friend and i were at a store a year or so ago and she popped a joke about it being a blood diamond, the lady got a pained look on her face and launched into a well rehearsed schpiel about blood diamonds and whipped out this thick pamphlet.

I know of some companies that I've researched that are conflict free...
I was just curious if anyone decided to purchase one that was
