Can anyone recommend an affordable place to stay in NYC? We're just staying overnight so he can see the sights.

Oh, I'm going to keep my eye on this. DH and I want to go to the city for his 4 day next month.

We loved the Ameritania, but its prices have gone up.
Hotel Pennsylvania is so-so.
DON'T stay at the Hotel St. James!

Ameritainia is booked all summer and the other one just has a weird web site. Thanks though.

stay in nj or just out side the city the hotels will be ten times cheaper and its not that far out of the way.. i wish i could remember the hotel i stayed at when i went with marching band but i cant :( ... i'm in PA :)

We stayed at a Holiday Inn in Soho, that was nice :tu Chains are usually bigger hotels, the Holiday Inn Express in Midtown is good, too. You might have better luck with chains.
