It's only been 3 days since I last really looked at my ticker :gloomy

Maybe I should take it off.

How am I supposed to make the remainding MILLION months (or so it seems)?

I'm very lonely today :lonely

Gotta keep busy hun! Before you know it you'll be looking at your ticker and only have a month left! Try some new activities, a project, or find a new hobby. Make a scrapbook of you and your s/o. The beginning and the very end of deployments are always the hardest for me. It takes time to get into a new routine.

:hugehug I don't have a ticker because it makes everything go in slow motion. It's like watching paint dry. I'm sorry you are having a rough day! I wish I could give you a big ole hug!

I'm not sure if this will help you or not...but I check my donut every few days and hardly ever check my ticker. The small increase in percent somehow seems like more progress than a few measly days. Hang in there, you'll make it through and soon he'll be home. I'd like to say it gets easier but I think you just learn to cope better. :hugehug

I'm in the same stich.

My ticker says 7% done. So I decided I'm gonna stop looking at it till it says a higher number.

Something about this day...I've been crying off and on all day. This deployment is a black hole of days!! :grumpy

I tried to break down my time left into mini count-downs...my b-day, end of school, end of the year, etc. It helps.

That, and watching the I Love the New Millenium on VH1 :hehe

Hang in there girls, we're all in this together!!!!!!!!!!! :hugehug

How about putting up a ticker representing something amazing that will be happening soon? Like a vacation, a great party? While I get it's for OPSEC sake, counting up SUCKS. Counting down to something else may help?! Just an idea :)

Ugh, I know how you feel about the ticker. I'm thinking about getting rid of mine. It makes the time seem to go slower when you're focusing on it so much.

Last deployment I did this thing where I intentionally never paid attention to what the date was, and only every couple of weeks would I even look at what percent complete I was. It helps it go faster to put your mind on other things!

And I agree with everyone else that this month SUCKS. It is seriously dragging.

I think this is a great idea!! I don't look at my donut very often. I'd rather wait a few days and then see it's moved a bit! Keep busy. Look forward to hanging out with friends and family! I try to schedule something each day so I think about that instead of missing my sweetie.
