Well, I have hit a point in my life where I have to make a decision. AS some of you know, I have been battling the co-worker from Hell and it has gone on for over 2 years now. She has finally pushed me over the edge as of last week.. (see previous posts) Friday did it for me. She told me that I better schedule my surgery AFTER the class she is determined to make me teach. She is making me teach it because she knows I have severe stage fright..That did it for me! I am out of here! Who is she to tell me how to handle my health??? :handup

Anyway, after a lot of soul searching this weekend, I have decided to give up my job and go back to school. It was a very hard decision because I have been working for 10 years now and my job pays very well... That is scary to think that I am going from having a nice paycheck every 2 weeks and living comfortable to relying on student loans and parental assistance if necessary to survive. :eek

Secondly, I have my dream car that I have decided to sell. I finally built up the nerve today to let it be known that the car is up for sale. I have been told I need to hold onto it because it is an exotic and will only go up in value etc.. but I just feel that it is the right thing to do at this point. I do not want to have to worry about paying a big car payment and being a full time student.

As it stands, I will have no mortgage because my house is paid for and no car payment if I sell my car. I have a Jeep Liberty that has been paid off so I will drive that to and from school. The situation is perfect for me to go back to school but I am scared as hell....

It is amazing how one person can make your life so miserable that they push you into big life changes but maybe it has been a blessing in disguise. Maybe she has actually helped me by giving me the "push" to follow my dream and to go medical school....

I pray I am doing the right thing... :pray

Good luck! It sounds like you've put a lot of thought into this. As you said, you're not making the decision because of the co-worker, you're making the decision you've wanted to make for a long time, but this is giving you the push to do it now. You sound to be in a great financial position. What is your car? I'm a car nut, so that really intrigued me ;)

Trust me... I will be sure to let everyone in this office and the head office that it is because of her... If I end up teaching that class, I am going to make sure I tell her that I hope she enjoys it because it will be my last one..LOL

Oh you go, girl! I know you'll do great! And make sure you rub that co-worker's face in it! LOL! I know...I shouldn't be that way. But some people just deserve it...and she sounds like a real piece!

OMG! You don't even know the half of it... we have an employee leaving Monday because of her... the new girl taking his place I feel sorry for... My co-worker is already talking about writing the new girl up and she has not even started yet. :no

I'll just be short and sweet: You ARE doing the right thing. This coming from someone who is giving up a career in law and is back in graduate school. Even when it gets hard, don't doubt that it's the right thing.

I know you have been through a LOT of bs lately (not just at work) and I am glad to hear that it has culminated in the opening of this new chapter in your life. It sounds like this is a very positive change for you and I admire your courage in being able to take such a step.
