I have just recently moved and put my 2 sons in the same room to sleep, but so far it has been a DISASTER!! I am trying to be patient with the process but tonight for example...I put my 2 1/2 year old to bed at 8:30 and my 5 (almost 6) year old to bed just before 9....and it is about quarter after 10 and they are STILL UP...... I just DO NOT HAVE PATIENCE for much more of this. I am SOOOOO frustrated. They are not just talking they are throwing toys, pillows and being rowdy. I have disciplined them 3 times now and still THEY DONT CARE....I just need some insight. (Please, no suggestions that I place them in separate rooms because that is truly not DEALING with the situation/issue.)

the boys share. Usually I put Ethan to bed first then deal with Eli. Jeff can put them both to bed..hmm. a movie or show for 30 minutes? will that calm them down?

When we first started bunking ours, we would put the younger one to bed long before the older one and made sure they fell asleep before we put the other one to bed.

All I can say is be consistant. When I first put Wyatt and Cameron together it was bad.. but now they go to bed and go to sleep right away most nights.. Once in a great while they will play, but they stop the first time we go in there.

Now naps.. that's another story :lol

This is the concept that we have been employing. I am hoping that this will work out. My oldest though is waking the youngest who was already asleep....:confused dunno..well have to see!

I am not attempting naps...they are in separate areas for those...Oldest DS doesn't nap. Yeah I am being consistent, but my patience are gone.....i know this too shall pass!!

It is a transition period. It may take a good 20 days or so for them to get use to it.

:hugs

I really don't have advice. We will be dealing with it soon as our next child comes.

I would keep telling your oldest that he is not to wake his little brother up. That its bedtime yada yada all that jazz. it just takes patience ( which i know can wear thin) and consistency. Our two youngest love to sleep with one another. During the summer they can get rowdy, but a threat of sending either one to their room checks them of that.
