I really wish I could ship my kids to visit their dad in Iraq.
It's been a REALLY bad week.
3 nights ago, one of them dumped about 3/4 of a costco sized bottle of maple syrup all over the floor in the kitchen. I moved the maple syrup up higher on the shelf unit.
The next night, one of them dumped their water all over the kitchen table and floor at dinner (I had finished and was doing a load of laundry). The spill might have been accidental.....but instead of getting a towel, they played in it (normally the younger one is anal and grabs a towel for any mess!)
Tonight, in between me putting dinner into the stove and getting online to check my e-mail (10 minutes...tops) they climbed up the shelf unit, got the maple syrup bottle, and poured the rest of it into my crock pot....and the crock for it is in the dishwasher.....so it went straight into the base part. How the heck am I going to clean that well enough to use it again?! UGH!

:wow

I think your kiddos don't deserve any more syrup for their pancakes or oat meal or whatever you use it for. At least for a while.

:hugs I'm sorry to hear that deployment murphy has struck again.

oh heck no! LMAO! The other bottle of syrup is above the stove now.....they're not going to see that bottle until they're both 18!

I am sorry they are being terrors! :hugs

I would use HOT HOT WATER with a sponge to get the majority of it and then use a degreaser of some sort to remove the rest. Just don't submerge it in water. ;)

Thanks Dani.....do you think a little dawn would work well enough as a degreaser, or should I find something else? Salt and vinegar (my normal cleaning process for the stove top and tough stuff on the counter)??

Dawn with a little HOT HOT Water. Should work if it doesn't try using something similar to a Brilo Pad and maybe Vinegar and Salt if need be.

Thanks ladies.....we'll be spending all afternoon outside at the park, maybe the beach. They will be so tired that by dinner time tonight, I plan on having to spoon feed them and then carry them to bed. LOL!
I'll be scrubbing the rest of the syrup out tonight (I had to wait for as much to drain out as possible.....I should have taken a picture....it wasn't pretty!)
