When we bought a house before we saw a house we really liked but it didn't have any information just the name and number of the real estate agent. We called and she helped us out until we found a house. :edit My mom just calls the listing agent of the house shes interested in. I don't think thats exactly fair since they only get paid if you buy a house from them. CoffeeGirl 06-27-2008, 11:42 AM We found our guy in a booth in the mall. :wowsers I have seen those-We actually have one of those booths in our mall & I always thought that was a fluke:teehee how cool for you Heather:D Lckychrmzz 06-27-2008, 11:42 AM We used one from USAA's Movers Advantage. It was great! Since we used their program, their realtor, and their loan we got $1500 after closing! Bex 06-27-2008, 11:43 AM I have my uncle, but if I didn't, I'd go by referral - asking around to friends who had purchased houses and had a particular agent they liked. We are here in Az if you want I could give you her #. She was very patient with us. We went to like every builder possible. Lckychrmzz 06-27-2008, 11:50 AM Thats our plan too:yes so far anyways:yes They even call you to make sure the realtor is doing their job. If you dont like the realtor then they will find you someone else. I hated the first guy they gave me. He refused to email me listings even though I told him I was 3.5hrs away and needed to send them to my husband since he was out to sea. The next realtor sent me 300 listings the first time I talked to her. CoffeeGirl 06-27-2008, 11:54 AM They even call you to make sure the realtor is doing their job. We used the Navy Federal thing where they set you up with a realtor and such. They were dragging there feet about getting us the actual name of the realtor but had given us the name of the Realty company. So, we just called up the realty company and Ms LeGrand is the one who answered our call and took us. I did find out though that once Navy Federal finally got their crap together they sent us the name of a realtor, we were like too late. That realtor got kinda upset with Ms. LeGrand, but she told her oh well, early bird gets the worm sort of thing. Ms LeGrand deals with mostly very high end real estate as in the over 350,000dollar range but she had no problem showing us less expensive homes. She might not have gotten as big as commission on us as she would of some very expensive home but she treated us all the same and was absolutely wonderful. We were first time homebuyers and she really taught us a lot. So, if anyone is ever so inclined to move to San Antonio, I would so recommend her. |
