View Full Version : How many???
CoffeeGirl 06-27-2008, 11:26 AM How many homes did you look at before you found "THE ONE" the one & only, the greatest, the house that you bought?? Just curious:D;)
Was the process of looking at the houses fun or a pain in the butt??
Ellen 06-27-2008, 11:27 AM We actually only looked at our current house. We weren't looking to buy, just saw it was an open house in our neighborhood and we went in just to look and realized that it was perfect for us!!!
CoffeeGirl 06-27-2008, 11:29 AM We actually only looked at our current house. We weren't looking to buy, just saw it was an open house in our neighborhood and we went in just to look and realized that it was perfect for us!!!
:wowsers That was so lucky Ellen!:yay
Heather 06-27-2008, 11:30 AM I think we looked inside 9 and put in an offer. We probably drove by 25-30.
The house we ended up buying was the very first house we saw. HOWEVER, our offer was secondary the first time so we ended up looking at 10-15 more houses over the course of 3 months. THEN, we were just driving through the neighborhood looking at houses and we both thought "wow, that looks familiar" and realized the first house we had put an offer on was back on the market!! We snatched that up quickly!!
Lckychrmzz 06-27-2008, 11:47 AM I believe we looked at 14 in ONE day! We couldnt agree on a single one till we walked into this one. It had almost everything we both wanted and we agree immediately.
deewix 06-27-2008, 01:33 PM Between a two day period, we looked at probably 15 homes and came back to the second one we had orginally looked at. Placed a bid that evening on the second day of looking and was accepted the next day.
Also, in the two day period we also looked at 5 or 6 homes of new builds. We had considered doing a new built but it was going to take at least 6 months for completion and I did not want to wait that long.
Miss B Hav'n 06-28-2008, 11:33 PM We saw four other homes before we got to this one. With three of them, we knew right off that the house as not "the one". The fourth was a close call but still didn't fell 100% right. When we arrived at this house, we knew it WAS the one.
cllgefrk13 06-28-2008, 11:50 PM I looked at between 20-30. I knew exactly what i wanted (i'm picky) so a lot of the houses we'd walk in and walk right back out. When I saw my house I knew it was "the one". I did find it enjoyable to walk around and see other people's houses and how the lived and decorated :)
girl20racer 06-28-2008, 11:57 PM I've never been able to house hunt.. (except before I met DH and I was trying to get one for just me) but had more of a budget than a couple might have!
We really want to build a house, close to time for retirement.
Good look though sweetie, I think it will be fun :yes
Shaky 06-29-2008, 12:09 AM This was the 1st house we saw. We were driving by and saw the sign out side and I absolutely loved the way it looked from out side. I told dh "You see that house, that's our house, we will be living in there" He thought I was crazy :lol Then a couple of weeks later our realtor was going to show us that house + about 3 more she got to show us. This one was the 1st one we visited, saw the rest but we knew after seeing this one that it was the one :)
The process was fun and then the process of buying wasn't bad at all! I think we were very lucky.
USAF_Gal 06-29-2008, 01:18 AM We didn't look at houses, we looked at about 7 or 8 different plots before we decided where to build.
piggypunkinetta 06-29-2008, 01:20 AM I looked at too many to count. We never found the "perfect" house. If our budget was higher we could definitely find the perfect house.
petsparkle 06-29-2008, 01:56 AM It was the third one for us. We looked at about 6 more after it, but kept coming back to this one. So this is the one we got.
gunsgirl 06-29-2008, 08:28 AM 24 in 2 days... it was a long hard 2 days that is for sure!!!
FTCWifey 06-29-2008, 09:39 AM When I bought my first home, I only looked at it. I was sold.
