One of my dearest friends, DDs godmother, lost her 2 year old son yesterday.

He was born with a very rare heart defect along with a couple of other heart issues. He had been in and out of hospital since birth and has had open heart surgery twice. We almost lost him over the Christmas holidays when he got the flu and pneumonia, he had to be revived multiple times.

But since then things have been good! It was a big hooray when he started gaining weight again, and had made it all the way up to 23 1/2lbs last week. He had even begun walking again.

Yesterday, while at home with his mother, he had an asthma attack and while momma went to get his inhaler he went into cardiac arrest. He was gone before medics arrived.

He will be dearly missed by many. His daddy was a fireman and he loved the firetrucks so they plan to do a full dress all hands salute at the funeral. All the ladders in the area have been invited.

This is a horrible picture of me, but it is the only one that I have on my laptop of him.

Thank you Theresa. I am a freakin mess here. I can't even imagine what my poor friend is going through. I could hardly understand her on the phone.

She has been through so much. Her first husband died in 2001, and I was the one to give her the news. I feel like we are connected by death. She said I was the only person she could think of to call.

There's nothing more tragic than losing a innocent child......I'm so very sorry.

Wow, Lord have mercy on that family and I pray they can find His peace in this time of desolation. :pray Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and through the mercy of God may he rest in peace :pray I'm so sorry for the loss of this precious child. He will have no more pain, no more surgeries now. He is free to play in all of heaven.

I'm so sorry. I know how that goes. My brother had a heart condition and ended up having not one but two heart transplants. He still ended up passing away right before his 4th birthday. It is so hard.
