99% of the time, Liam gets fruit and vegetables, fresh and just sliced up. He's also really fond of string cheese:giggle Cottage cheese, yogurt, and the Boca chick'n patties are big hits, as well.

Peanut butter and jelly(or sunflower butter and marmalade, etc) definitely good, too. :yes

We used to always buy it at Whole Foods. Since we don't have one here, we've been ordering it online:lol There are a million kinds, though, and any natural store wil have at least a few:yes

Sydnee eats chewy fruit snacks, crackers and cheese, pudding, sometimes she does the cheetos thing, cheerios, carrot sticks, raisons, flies on a log ( celery w/ peanut butter and raisons on it) and so much more!

DD loves Veggie chips (I get them at Trader Joe's).. I keep things like PB cracker sandwiches, quaker mini delights, applesauce and fruit leather(http://www.stretchislandfruit.com/) in the snack cabinet.. and we keep cheese and such in the fridge for her to snack on. She also loves fruits.. oranges, apples and bananas are big around here.

apples, bananas, pineapple, grapes, string cheese, yogurt, lance crackers (we get that multi pack at costco), wheat toast with peanut butter.....

my ODD loves fresh fruits and veggies! she rather have those than anything else.

my DS loves Popsicles! he loves cheese! peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, he aslo likes the chewy fruit snacks, but I dont buy them that often because I think they are just awful for his teeth. He also loves the gold fish crackers. the only fruit i can get him to eat are bananas. the only vegetables i can get him to eat are potatoes and carrots.

Loretta
06-30-2008, 02:06 AM
Oooohhh yeah! I forgot about the goldfish crackers:yes Liam LOVES them. He will drop them in tomato soup and make them swim around then fish for them when he's eating:teehee Those things are like gold in this house, definitely a treat I keep reserved for special times because they work wonders as a bartering tool when he's uncooperative and I'm tired. :rofl

Fruit Snacks, pretzels, club cracker sticks, string cheese, goldfish, shortbread cookies, Cheetos, lance cracker snacks, yogurt, pudding, fruit cups, fruits (all kinds), baby carrots with ranch, celery with cream cheese & olives, bread... yes ol' plain bread :lol, raisins, Teddy Grahams Snack mix, Dried Fruits, fruit puffs, Fruit chips (like tortilla chips only made with fruit).

I'm sure there's more, but I can't think.

Yogurt Sauce :teehee We mix apple sauce and organic whole milk yogurt and she goes to town!
She also loves mangoes, pineapple, apples, papaya, bananas, cut up green peppers, carrots, etc. She'll eat almost any fruit/veggie
We recently found these 100% organic freeze dried white/yellow peaches that she loves.

My daughter isn't huge on fruits and vegetables or that's what she would get. She will eat bananas, grapes, and applesauce, so she gets that. Sometimes the freeze dried potatoes from Costco (they're like chips, but with no oil or anything), raisins, goldfish crackers, yogurt, string cheese, animal crackers...at school she gets fruit, bread, crackers, cold cereal (sometimes dry, sometimes with milk)...
Yeah, I'm not very creative.

She's more of a grape girl, I don't see how she's not tired of them yet.. even though they can be so expensive at times :teehee

Brandi

garaham crackers, teddy grahams, ritz with peanut butter, saltines with sliced cheese, grapes, strawberries, sliced apples, oranges, cereal, string cheese, some sort of homemade cookie or bread or muffin, carrot sticks, cut up cucumbers, yogurt, occasionally they get 100 cal pack if we need something quick or on the go....

I think cereal is probably the most common one. We keep various low sugar cereals stocked b/c they are an easy, portable snack.

Almost anything. My DS is a very big grazer. I don't mind it either. We try to keep things healthy although he loves cookies. If they are gone, they are gone though.

Loves fruit, grapes, oranges, watermelon, ect.

Veggies, not so much.

Snackys: Chips, popcorn, found out about slim jims, cereal, almost anything.

My kids get dry cereal for snack, especially when I'm picking them up from school. At home on weekends, it's usually a Gogurt.

Jill
06-30-2008, 09:08 AM
Trent is not a big snacker but when he is he eats dry cereal, chips of any sort, string cheese, pudding snack (only after nap time) apples but not the peel:arg, bread with peanut butter, and cheese singles.

Ok, I'll admit it. Madison eats chips. But she also eats teddy grahams, fruit snacks, peanut butter and apple slices (I say peanut butter first because there is MUCH more pb consumed than apples! :teehee), carrot sticks and ranch dressing, grapes and oranges.

My kids love grapes, (apples and bananas sometimes) Strawberries, fish crackers or cheese nips (they LOVE those!), yogurt (or gogurt) and string cheese are house hold musts in my family... They also love jello.... Chips are kinda a treat, few and far between. I would rather give em a piece of candy then a bag of chips on a regular basis...Call me crazy! =)

DD loves fruit, she could eat it all day everyday. She also loves salad. She likes the chewy fruit snacks, sugar free popsicles, yogurt, pretzels, cheese, goldfish crackers, cereal, tortilla chips and salsa. She also loves chocolate, cookies, and chips when she is allowed to have them.

Fruit string cheese, and yogurt for the most part. They get chips periodically but that is usually something that goes with hotdogs or hamburgers if we have them for supper.

We go through a heck of a lot of fresh fruit.

I'm trying to push fruits for snacks, but it isn't going so well.

Typically they snack on peanut butter and bread, crackers, cheese crackers, cheese sticks, popcorn, chips, along those lines.

We're trying to push apples, bananas, grapes, etc, but it's not going so well.

LOL @ the demand for honesty.

Ok - I give my kids chips and tings of that junk food sort time to time. Mainly when I want some I share.
Mainly fruit - apples, oranges and bananas. Healthy snacking doesn't have to be expensive :) And bologna. Don't know why but a few ofthe kids just love snacking on bologna circles.

DD LOVES banana's! She'll TRY to eat an apple (she doesn't like it cut up, so she just walks around biting off tiny pieces, and then spitting the skin out!) She also loves string cheese, yougart, applesauce (I'll throw in some cheerios with the applesauce, she loves cheerios) PB & honey (she's not a fan of jelly) And they have these lunchables Jr's with pieces of cheese, cut up ham, or turkey, and baby ritz crackers- those are GREAT!!

I think I have the worlds pickiest eater as a child though, so when I find something she likes, I'm jumping for joy!

I have pretty much outlawed snacks because I was having trouble getting them eat their meals. My son is SO skinny, crackers aren't going to beef him up!

right now I have on hand two different kinds of nature valley granola bars and some packs of austin crackers, apples, bananas, nectarines and some baby carrots. Recently we'd have string cheese as well.

The boys love fruit, veggies with some kind of dip (though they both like different veggies), crackers (the cheap ones with pb or cheese in the middle), string cheese is a HUGE hit with both of them, granola bars, nutrigrains (though we don't have these much), yogurt, yogurt covered raisins, graham crackers.... my boys will pretty much eat anything for a snack. Zach loves pb&j sandwiches right now.

I try to give my kids as healthy food as possiable. They LOVE peaches, bananas, apple sauce and grapes. I give them the yogurt melts and the furit puffs still cause ds doesnt have all of his teeth yet and they love them. I also get these things called Cheddair puffs. They are like all natural and melt in your mouth and snyders all natural multigrain white cheddar curls. If I cant find thoes two I will go for the cheetos puffcorn but I try to keep that at a minimum because of msg

depends on what I am trying to get rid of......haha

when my kids say they are hungry between meals I offer the following first:
bananas
yogurt
grapes
other fruits
snack packs (the little bags of random cookies, crackers, sometimes 100 calories or not)
raisins etc

If they are TRULY hungry they'll generally bite at those.
Sometimes they get cookies, chips etc......I just try to make sure that those aren't ALL they eat. Granola bars, yogos, fruit gummies......

Tandis only gets junkfood when his dad gives it to him.

The current snacks available in the kitchen THIS VERY MOMENT are:
boiled eggs (just whites, dogs get the yolks)
broccoli florets and ranch dip
carrot sticks and hummus dip
pita chips, unsalted
low sodium crackers (ritz, saltine, multigrain organic one that I like)
UNSALTED tortilla chips, homemade bean dip (low salt, lowfat)
Apples
Peaches
Cauliflower and ranch
string cheese
cottage cheese
summer sausage (good with crackers)
gouda cheese
multigrain cheerios
mini wheats
Trail mix (no candy in it, just nuts and fruit, unsalted)
Dried apricots

Miko has a bag of Doritos out right now, and he gives Tandis one/two whenever he's having some but I don't allow more than two chips per day. No exceptions to that.

You ate dippy eggs too?? :lol I LOVED dippy eggs!

My grandmother used to either make me the fried ones with the dippy yolk in the middle (over medium) or she'd soft boil them to where the white was firm but the yolk was runny, then she'd put it in a egg holder and crack the top off. I LOVED me some dippy eggs!

I'm the mom that will give my kids fruit snacks, adn then complain when they don't want to eat their dinner. I even pulled a brain fart the other day and let them each have a sucker after their nap (about an hour and a half til dinner). I couldn't get upset when neither one of my girls was hungry for dinner. But, I also cut apples up for them, or cheese, something like that. They will go for either sweet or fruity stuff. My kids are weird though, they won't eat crackers, and they don't like any fruit other than apples and bananas.

my kids will eat what ever is in the house...they are ages 7 & 10

must haves that are always in the house are...
cheese nips
ice cream or popsicles
pretzels

but my kids will also eat...
poptarts
sour cream & onion chips for my daughter
regular chips for my son
both love tortilla chips
oreos
cereal
donuts
muffins
fudge rounds
nutty bars
honey buns
dibs
nilla wafers
fruit bars
gogurts
cheese puffs
nachos
popcorn
fruit rollups/fruit by the foot
gummies
crackers

and i'm sure i've left out something but you get the general idea...its junk
for some odd reason the commissary here (NWS) does not sell Hostess but if i remember at walmart i'll buy twinkes & the cupcakes

they also eat fruit and some decent stuff...

like i said i just let them eat whatever is here most of the time...they eat at meal time so i don't worry what they snack on

i guess i should say that not all that stuff is in the house all at once but we do always have junky snacks

Wanted to add dried Goji Berries to our list! Zoe loves them. They're same texture as raisins but less sugar.
