My DB and I are talking about marriage. But when i mentioned this to my best friend, she flipped out, saying we're too young.
But I am in love with my DB, and I want to be there to support him no matter what. I cant imagine being with anyone else, and I cant imagine a better way to learn about life than to do it with someone as amazing as him.Even though its only been 8 months, we were really good friends for 2 years before that.
I am doing better financially than most of the people I know that are my age, and I want to continue on with school, even if it ends up being online

I had been 18 for a whole 17 days :lol

i was 18 the first time I got married. I had been with him since I was 15. I thought he was the love of my life. He thought the same of me...What I didn't know, is that even then, you aren't done growing and finding yourself. You become a different person, and it's normal. The question is, will that person love the person u are going to become?

I am not against young marriage, just wouldn't do it again that young if I had to do it over.

my ex dh was 20 and i was 18. Things were perfect until he got a new job and lost it, and became abusive. Now, Andrew and I are talking about marriage and we will probably be 23 and 21.

Less than 3 weeks after turning 19. He wasn't active duty then. He had done 4 years prior to us meeting. Got out for 2 years (this when we met and got married). And then almost 1 year after we were married he rejoined. That was almost exactly 7 years ago. Will be 7 years in a few weeks. And then in Sept. will be our 8th wedding anni.

I was 18, DH was 22. We had been together for 9 months. (he wasn't in the army then)
Our 5th anniversary was this past saturday :) we were young, but are still verymuch in love :)

I was 34 days over 20 and he was 32 days under 24. Lol. I dont think the military really had anythig to do with the age, though I know some do get married quicker do to relocaion, deployments, etc. My parents were 22 and 23 and they will be married 24 years in Sept. My grandpareents were about the same and they celebrated 60 years last November

I turned 18 2 days before our wedding. DH was 19.

I was 18, he was 21. Now I'm 22, he's 25.

I was 18 and he was 20. This was four years before he joined the military, though.

We had also only been dating about a month...but we knew each other for a long time prior.

Old lady here. If db and I get married, it will probably be in the next few years and I will be 31 and him 29

i'll be just short of 26. in my opinion, don't rush too much...live your life first! you still most likely have 60+ years to be married :)

I don't think getting married young is for everyone. But I would like to think that most of the people who do chose it know what they are getting into.

I got married at 17! Yes ...17! He was 18. We've been married for two years now :) I love him to death.

We were both 21 (almost 22) and had dated 5 years prior to get married. Also I was just a few months shy of finishing college. Young marriages work for some people but not for everyone. I know DH and I grew and changed soooo sooo much from the time we were 18 to the time we got married and that was only 3 years. Luckily we grew closer together but some of our close friends now in the military are having problems in their marriage because they never had that time to just be on their own and really figure out who they are. I just got married and am 1.5 months from 24, and I know what you mean. DH has friends his age that have been married almost 5 years already.

I was 20, he was 19. We're looking at the 3 year mark in November, but we have been together for almost 7 years.

I was 21 and DH was 22... we had only been dating for 6 months and been engaged for 2 weeks before we got married... I say if you are really in love and you would do anything for each other and would stick by each other sides even if the worst were to happen then tell your friends to :censored!! I had a huge problem with my friends and now they don't talk to me anymore because they didn't agree with us getting married... but my husband and I are completely happy and they are still partying and getting into trouble and are not happy... so who made the right decision??? How young is too young in her eyes? I was 20(21 next month lol) and dh was 21. My grandmother got married at 19... My best friend(dh is in the military too) got married at 19 too I think. Age is just a number really. :) Your friend should be glad that nowadays we get married at 18+(usually, some do get still marry a lot younger not that that's a bad thing)...cause way back when..12,13,14. lol.

27, I think it was a good age for me because I liked the whole playing around thing. I was not ready to settle down until I met DH. I think everyone has their own pace. So if you know you are ready then you are not too young.

Dh and I have been married for 11 1/2 years. I think marriage tends to be rough on young couples. I know we have had our ups and downs, but I love the fact that we have grown together and we feel so much more wiser and mature :happy

I know what you mean....I'm young too but if you know that it's right don't let anyone hold you back. DB and I talk about it all the time. It is in the near future! :D
