View Full Version : absolutely, positively great news
Brandi 06-30-2008, 08:36 PM As most of you probably know from hearing me bitch and whine about it, Jason's underways have started again now that the ship is about to be commissioned.
Well, since it's a precom, the whole crew isn't here right now, like half of them are still in san diego with their families so they didn't have to go on the last underway and some of them still won't go on the next one either.
However, another chief from san diego is on his way here right now and jason's been told that this chief is actually going to be filling his spot on the next underway, since jason did the last one and the other chief didn't. And since they don't need the whole crew and the other chief basically HAS to go so he can learn all of the equip and such, Jason's going to get to stay home!!!!!
This is mostly big news to me b/c the next underway is only a couple weeks before my due date and I was feeling exxxxxtremely nervous about him being gone with me so close to being due and this being our forth child (they all supposedly come early and all of my labors have started by 36-37 weeks).
So, this is HUGE news. Now I won't have to worry about him possibly missing the birth or not having anyone here in case something should happen.

ME TOO!!! We had our doubts about this command but they have really shown so far that they are a good command with good people. They've let him have all of the days off that he's needed for my stupid, pain in the ass appts, he's gotten to leave early if need be and hasn't gotten any crap about it, and now they're really working with him on this since I'll be due so soon also. I feel incredibly happy that things have worked out as well as they have. His command has been very understanding and helpful which has taken a big burden off of both of us. Two :tu :tu for good commands.

Yeppers, I'll check them once I get the kids down for bed. It sometimes takes me quite a while to respond to everyone, so I tend to respond in spurts when the kids are sleeping or out of my hair for a while.

Oh thats such great news for you Brandi. I know what you mean about being with an understanding command. Robs command where he is at and will be leaving soon has been very very understanding when it comes to my appts for various things too and I can only hope that his next command will be just as understanding.
I know you feel like a big weight has been lifted off your shoulders too.
