Hi all!
Ok, so the job hunt still lumbers on with barely a nibble. Does anyone know of any places in Norfolk/VA Beach area that are hiring. I'd like to avoid retail if possible, but am open to anything else. I've tried careerbuilder, careerconnection, usajobs, and craigslist already.
I have a BA and would like a M-F 9-5 type job with decent pay and benefits.
I JUST WANT A JOB!!!!!:tears:beg
What's your BA in? What is "decent" pay? Give me some clues and I'll try to brainstorm....

My mom works for crossmark as a gum rep she goes into stores and tries to get the stores to sell their products. Maybe you could see if they are hiring for that particular area, or look into something similar if you are interested. I think they also handle other types of rep positions and not just gum and candy but I'm not sure.

specifics on decent pay would be nice but i know spherion is a temp agency otherwise i work for panasonic and though i am tech support here in chesapeake the same building also has customer assistance. it starts at about 10.25-11.50/ hr and there is overtime available. they always try to get you 40 hours a week too which is nice. address for my building is 661 independence pkwy chesapeake. give it a shot, they might be hiring!!

My BA is in Historical Studies and decent pay would be starting at $20,000-$30,000 per year. Thanks for the help.

I would start with a temp agency. I have always found those to be the best ways to get into a perm position as many of the companies out there don't even advertise that they are hiring, they just go straight to temp agencies. It allows them to "try" out people without having to worry about benefits, etc until they know they are a good fit.
