I'm having a hard time finding houses for rent :( I find tons in the Bremerton or Tacoma area, but none around between Everett and Kent.

I have searched on craigslist, realtor.com, pacific nw finder, and the seattle times. I've been looking for the past week or so...

Any other sites I might not be thinking of?

Agreed. We found the house we are in currently on that site. Also, I've heard that you can find some rentals on www.militarybyowner.com

Good luck, I know it's so difficult to find good rentals ! ! !

I would maybe start with a realtor they can help you with finding a rental place. They also have access to listings that sometimes aren't available on the net.

try a local realtor, I know that is how my friend found her first place in the area

Those are out of our price range :( We're looking to pay no more than $1200 for a 3 bed. I can't justify $1500 for a rental :lol You get BAH, so it makes sense, but not for us!

I guess if we can't find anything in that range, we'll just have to live in an apt.

That would be nice! We could pay an extra $25-50, I suppose.

Your area has a lot of affordable houses...Same thing w/ the Tacoma area.

It must be something w/ Seattle being right next to us, lol, or just families that are settled...I don't know.

Rach try looking in Granite Falls that might be better in your price range and an easy drive to Bothell.

Sure he could, but I don't think he'd like to. He'll be already in his truck all day going to sites, so I don't think he'd want to sit in it for another hour if he didn't have to :lol I know some find it relaxing, being on the ferry, but I don't think he would.

Maybe we'll get lucky like you guys did!

Thanks Melissae. I meant to respond before. I see some more have popped up but I'm just going to wait till Aug, since I've got about 2 months before we're there. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll find a home!

Hey Rach, post a housing wanted ad on craigslist and see if anyone emails you! I did that before we moved up here and people emailed me about their houses they were going to have available in our time frame. I just said something like we were a family of three (we're not crazy bachelors), relocating for work, had excellent references, an older dog that was house broken and we were looking for a 3br/2ba home with a fenced yard.

The only kicker was I didn't put our rent range in the listing b/c I didn't want some place that would normally be cheaper knowing what our max was.

I thought about doing that but forgot to. Good idea! Thanks girl!
