For those of you who voted no? What if I bought him an engagement ring to wear and gave it to him after he asks me to marry him? So the engagement ring is his bday present?

I just know (in his own words) he would think its "cool as shit" that I bought him an engagement ring. So I'm trying to think of a way to get one for him without it being cheesy or anything....

df wouldn't go for an engagement ring, and def wouldn't wear both an engagement and wedding band.

but you know your man and what he likes so if you think he would like it go for it! i just wouldn't give it to him til he gives you your ring.

i love the idea of getting your guy an engagement ring...my DF wears one that i bought for him! (i also asked him to marry me, too, and he LOVED it!)
