I just got back from constesting my first ticket I've ever gotten in the 24 years I have been driving and I won!! Yay for me! :D
Even though the officer stated he had me on radar going 14 miles over the speed limit the judge said they could not prove I was speeding under the circumstances. He had reported things incorrectly on the report like what I said and where he was positioned when he supposedly got me on radar. I knew I wasn't speeding, at least that much. I might have been going a few miles over which I admitted but not 14!! I just don't drive like that, right past a patrol car with the flashing lights going long before I even reach it. So it was DISMISSED! I don't know if she believed I wasn't actually speeding but said they couldn't prove it. She might have just been feeling generous, either way, I'm glad I still have a clean record.
And to think I had almost convinced myself to just pay the fine and not contest it because I was worried they were going to make me feel stupid for being there. Plus I have a really hard time speaking in front of people....I stammer, stutter when I get nervous. So, I almost didn't go.
