So I'm :thinking

My thread in the "During Deployment" forum found here (http://forum.militarysos.com/showthread.php?t=187613) reminded me that this poem was really special to me.

Today I was remembering how DB said it'd be so awesome if his girl proposed to him. I took that as one of his dreams. A mini dream...but a dream no less. And I want to make his dreams come true.

So I'm thinking, I could take him somewhere, casually bring up this poem and then tell him I have it and want to read it to him. I want to tell him that I want to spend my forever making all of his dreams come true. And then I want to ask him if he'll spend his forever with me too.

I really don't want to do anything "WOW" because I don't want to one-up his proposal to me.

Is this a subtle enough idea? The other thing I was thinking is to take him to the Irish pub downtown (he loves that place) and befriending the live musicians that play every night. I could ask them if I could get him up on stage and ask him then. I could also arrange to have all of our friends there ahead of time. I don't know. I have a couple weeks to plan this...but this is hard! I dont know how they do this! :giggle

i like the first one with the poem best. the 2nd one may 1 up him on your proposal. it sounds like it'd be kinda a big deal, in front of a lot of people, and very public... which could beat out his to you. :giggle

I really like both ideas... I guess it depends on how public or private you want that moment to be???

The poem idea is super romantic and the pub idea is just super fun haha :D

I think I'm going to wait to see how he asks me first. I'll tone down my idea based on that occasion. I definitely want it to be sweet, but not over the top. :) And I don't want to just hand him the ring either. I have to at least say something sweet!

Update!

The ring will be here in another 5-7 days. But... I am still waiting for him to ask me first. I don't want to scare him off. :lol After he asks me, I'll ask him. I think it will happen on the 18th...keep your fingers crossed!
