This is a spin off of the "snacks" thread which I thought was a GREAT idea b/c it gave me lots of new ideas for my kids.

So, I would like to get a meal idea one going also and sticky both of them.

What types of things do you give your kids for breakfast?
What about lunch?

Sometimes we get stuck in the peanut butter and jelly rut where we alternate between that and like 2 or 3 other things for like 2 weeks in a row :nutts The kids don't mind but it gets frustrating for me b/c I want them to have more variety.

So, let's share what types of things we like to give our kids for breakfast and lunch!

I often make hard boiled eggs and take the yokes out. My DS loves egg salad sandwiches. We keep lots of fruit and veggies. He is also into salads right now.

He eats what we eat. If I'm making myself something, he eats it. he doesn't get much choices.

Good post though. Might get some ideas.

Breakfast:

cereal
Cream of wheat
Oatmeal
Cottage cheese
yogurt
Fruit
Fruit muffins

She doesn't like to eat for a while after she gets up, so if we have an early appointment, I give her an "on-the-go breakfast" she can do in the car which is:

yogurt drinks poured in a sippy cup
sugar free carnation instant breakfast drinks in a sippy cup
breakfast or granola bars
dry cereal

Lunch:
Corndogs
Chimichangas or burritos
Mac and cheese (I get jars of baby food veggies and mix a couple of them in like carrots so it doesn't change the taste too much or make it taste bad)
Grilled cheese with mixed veggies in the middle (so there's cheese and veggies in it when I cook it and when the cheese melts, it keeps the veggies in place)
PB&J
She LOVES noodles, so I've resorted to giving her Ramen some days...hahaha
Wraps

For lunch sides:
Carrots with light ranch or light cucumber ranch dressing
Ants on a log
Fruit
Some type of raw veggie
small salad without dressing
fruit snacks

If she wants say PB&J too many days in a row, I try to change up her sides to give her more of a variety.

Breakfast nothing out of the ordinary or special:
cheerios with strawberries or bananas
fruit salad
pancakes
french toast
sausage, eggs, taters

Lunch:
She loves turkey sandwiches
salad
Homemade pizza bagels - break apart bagel put on baking pan add whatever pizza toppings (spaghetti sauce or pizza sauce, cheese, onions, peppers etc) and bake in the oven. :hungry
chicken nuggets
fries
fruit or fruit salad
She likes the Lipton Noodle soup

My child is a fruit and salad freak so when all else fails I can give her those.

Breakfat is noting major. Normal stuff. Sometimes when I make pancakes or french toast with bacon I make extra and freeze them in individual servings(baggies). That way they can just put them in the microwave for about 1 min. This is good on school mornings. It's hard to get DD to eat breakfast so this helps along with Carnation. For lunch my kids are pretty basic. They LOVE peanut butter and fluff!!!
