Ok i'm feeling sappy! What's the sweetest thing your SO has written in a letter or said over the phone while they were away??

Mine would probably be when he said, "When I was younger, i'd think of what i'd want my wife to be like, and that girl couldn't even compare to you" ahh i miss him so much!!

Hmm. He's not really a cutsie kind of guy but he has said some really wonderful things...

Just yesterday he said he never expected to meet a woman who "fit" him so well. Considering how independent he is, that is QUITE a compliment.

Other things that he's said are quite personal so I think I'll keep them to myself but it's been sweet thinking through them. :wub

that the first thing I need to learn as "an army wife" is no news is good news...

PS... he said this before even calling me his girlfriend;)

Hmmm....again my dh really isn't the "cutesy" kind of guy.

BUT my moment would be at our wedding....he was so nervous he was shaking like carzy and dropped my ring which proceeded to roll under the altar. :giggle

DB says the sweetest things to me every day.. it's hard to pick..
once he said "i saw this elderly couple today & she was in a wheelchair and they were still holding hands and it made me think of you and how we will be when we grow old together"

& another sweet thing he does is sing to me on the phone. :smitten

Not the cutest thing he has said, I'm sure. Can't think right now what would be. But he did say something today that made me laugh.

We were talking about this camping site we're going to go to in a few weeks. I was telling him I would go get him a new fishing pole. He replies with a chuckle and I'll pick out my own pole. I chuckled back "Oh, so you don't trust me". And he shook his head and said nope. So I said" fine I'll pick out the kids' fishing poles then". And he says "That's a good idea". You know like you stick with them cause you don't know what all a man's fishing pole needs and how to pick it all out, etc. I say 'what you trust me to pick out their poles but not your's'. And he just nods his head. Turd. LOL

The other day he texted me to say "I love you". I wrote back "I love you. I miss you". He replies with "Awwwwww". I replied with "You're too cute". I didn't get a reply. LOL He tries to play all manly most of the time and then he replies with Awwww. LOL I couldn't help but laugh and think Oh, Lord how cute is this.

"I can't wait to have a house full of little monsters that look beautiful like you" ... well that was paraphrased. He calls our future kids monsters all the time :lol

Hmm this is hard because DH is such a sweet loving guy...I always call him Poppa Bear..and one day we were talking about what he should call me and he said..."I have thought about it and I decided I will call you my humming bird" so now that is what he calls me I am his humming bird. When I was on the phone with him on Sunday he said "I want to get my tattoo added on to...I want to get a humming bird put on my arm next to your name" (he already has my name on his arm) I was like awwww :lovestruck.

i was talking about how most of my relationships were always one sided where i felt i did all the work...and i got this in an email in return(this was like our first week of being "together")
"yes....get ready then babe.....it will definitely be a two way thing with US."

We were talking about marriage, and it said how it felt like it was forever until it would happen and he says:

ohh man, this is a tough one...DB says thee cutest things to me all the time..the 5 letters i have from him are FILLED with really sweet things..
ok, top two..first ones long so be forwarned :)

1. I sent him a text one day asking if "what is the sweetest thing I have done for you?". His reply was " being my best friend, love you ". . . It was the best ! ! !

This may sound kind of silly but, I have to say the cutest thing my DH has ever said is after I was being a butthead from a long day at work. He just wanted to cuddle and I pushed him away because I was in a bad mood.
He looked at me and said "Baby, You just hurt my heart." You can only imagine how bad I felt. I started to cry...

I don't think I could pick out one particular moment, he is a very loving husband. I remember when we were just starting to date and he would talk to me like I would be with him for ever... Saying the most beautiful things... He melts my heart every time.

I first met DH on a trip to Fort Bragg to see my best friend's fiance when he returned from Iraq. We were staying in a hotel, and he stayed the night with me a couple nights after meeting him(sounds slutty, i know but he was a perfect gentleman the entire night). We stayed in bed for hours the next day, just talking and laughing and watching tv. We were going to a barbecue that night and it was getting to the point where he really needed to get up and go to his house and get ready. When he finally got up, I heard him mumble something under his breath. I asked him what he said and he said "I didn't think I was ever going to have it in me to get up and walk away from you like that." I called my mom and told her I met the man I was going to marry. 4 years later, it finally happened.

"Close your eyes, curl up with DB (Not "dear boyfriend", but a small, amazing bear we share named "Dylan Bear" whom we call "DB"), imagine my arms around you, me kissing your head and stroking your hair."

Can I go play with Ski?

Ski was a guy he was deployed with and he hadn't spoken to him since he got home. They used to play XBOX with eachother and well, one night Ski came online and Dustin got super super excited about it. We were gonna watch a movie, but I couldn't say no because he was so excited about playing with his friend. He was like a little boy.

Man. This is hard. DH is definitely not a cute kinda guy. But the other day he left me a voice mail that made me smile.
"Hey baby. Text me when you want me to call you back. Love you. Love you. Love you."
I just thought it was sweet how he felt the need to say it 3 times.

When he was deployed I sent him a message about how I wish we could watch the sunrise together and he said:

I got a letter last week from DB that said "Cuddle up to the sound of my voice and listen to the song of my soul."

He didn't include it with anything, but damn, that's sweet.

DB is the smoothest thing ever, lol. He wont admit it, but the kid is a hopeless romantic.

Today, he woke me up by calling me and telling me that im his perfect dream, and that a perfectly ideal day for him would just be getting to sit down and talk to me.

It is very hard for me to pick just one--DB writes the sweetest things to me. I got a text a few weeks back that said, "I am hopelessly in love with you." That one made me cry. I could fill volumes...

ummn i cannot just say one cause he hasnt said jjjust one cute thing to me he has said tons he is poetic so he is all mushy gushy.... he always makes me blush cause he says the most cutest things ever

Cheesiest thing he ever wrote to me in a letter was, "A beautiful blue butterfly landed on my equipment today, and I knew that it was your love following me." Made me smile.

hmmmm...DB always says such adorable things to me...but yesterday he said..."babe...you know what is sooooo amazing?? and i said what?? and he said.....everytime i look at you, you get more and more beautiful...how is it possible?!....he said and also everytime i look at you...i just fall more and more in love with you....gosh babe, you've got me around your finger and i just can't wait to spend my life with you, i can't wait to have a family together, but most of all i can't wait to wake up by your side every morning and see your beautiful face" :D:D I was like OMG...i cried..haha...:P

Well my DB is one of those "manly men" and not the most romantic thing in the world, but he tries sometimes. Before he joined the Navy he told me "I love you so much that if you were a booger, I'd pick you first!" lol Yep, he's my mine, all mine!

Since he's been in boot camp though he's been a little more mushy gushy, and I kinda like it! In all my letters I have spritzed my perfume on the paper before I put it in the envelope. (I know, what a girl, right? hehe) In one of his letters he said, "I miss seeing your face and hearing your voice. It makes my heart skip a beat every time I open my A and B drawer because it smells so good from you."

Only 16 more days until I get to see him!

he will just randomly look at me and say "how did i get so lucky? you're the most beautiful woman in the world and you're all mine forever."

My DB isn't the lovey-dovey mushy type, but when we were saying goodbye before he left for BCT I had finally stopped crying for a bit, and we were hugging and I got real quiet and was about to begin bawling again and he goes, "Don't cry, please...I'm comin back. If you start crying again, I'm gonna break down." - And this is a guy that doesn't hardly cry. And then there's the stupid comments when we're having fights. Once I called him an "ass" and drove off, and then he sent me a message and said, "I think you meant, 'you have a nice ass'." Lol.

Ummm he occasionally says some really great/funny things but the one I am currently thinking of is....

well df is one of those guys who likes to act all tough :rolleyes but i know hes really a softy at heart :giggle the night before he left for OSUT he was holding me and i started to cry and i just couldnt stop... so he starts to sing that song you'll be in my heart by elton john ( i was suprised because i never heard him sing seriously before and hes actually good! :lol) and then all of a sudden after the first verse he looks at me and goes...oops. i forgot the rest of the words. :lol so then i stopped crying and started laughing...i love him :wub :D

db is in Iraq, and we were talking on webcam, and he said something that really scared me and I started to worry about him, and then I started crying. I REALLY tried to hide it, but we don't even have to be on cam for him to know I'm upset, he always just knows. He told me not to worry about him, and he'd be fine, but by this point I was too worried.

So he said "I'll leave my cam on when I go to sleep so you can see that I'm okay."

He did it, and it really did make me feel a thousand times better. It was just the sweetest, cutest moment ever. :wub

DB has always dated girls with long, curly brown hair - I had short straight hair and it's blonde. This one is funny 'cause I had already started growing it out... and because he made SUCH a big deal out of it.

No, he doesn't say romantic things... but I think he's adorable! And the man is seriously jonesing for some fresh seafood. :teehee

I've just got home from getting to spend 2 and a half months straight with DH. It's the longest we've gotten to spend together since we've been seeing each other. When I finally had to go home he wrote this to me when he got home from leaving me at the airport:

I miss you already Sarah. I cried on the drive back. I didnt go straight back to the house. I went to work, then C***e's, then G***a's. i just didnt want to be alone. When my pregnancy test came back positive dh told me that he was the happiest man in the entire world, then he put the phone down and ran through his barracks shouting my wife's pregnant!! lol but I wasn't pregnant after all, or I was but it terminated. Idk.

DH told me "When i saw you i knew you were going to be my wife" and befro our first kiss he had a beard at the time and he said "have you ever kissed a man with a beard?" i told him no and he replied with a **KISS** he still uses thatline on me!! haha.. i think its so sweet and cute!

he tapped me on the ring finger and said "when i get home from my deployment, i plan on putting something right there."

He squeezes his fists really tightly and shakes them in the air and through clenched teeth says "I love you so much!!" It's like he just cant squeeze out how much he really loves me in his expression. It's super sweet. In bed he'll squeeze me SO tight and tell me how much he loves me. I adore when he does those two things. They mean a lot considering his PTSD symptoms have caused him to lose the cuddles and snuggle desires. :(

Eric says so many sweet things...tryin to think of the sweetest....

DF says alot of sweet things but the latest one is when i was upset he said

"don't worry about it babe, everything will be okay. just think about us being a family and spending our life together" :wub

I just got this today "Your on my mind and I got butterflies in my stomach" and this from the other night "cutie just thinking about you thought I would send you a little txt about it. can't wait to talk to you and see you when i come home"

I woke up to this text one morning.. ( its long i'm sorry )

just last night on IM we were talking about addiction and he said this:

him: im addicted to you
me: oh really now?
him: mhm

it was adorable, and then last night on the phone

me: baby im falling asleep, ill just talk to you tomorrow.
me: besides, i dont want to waste all your minutes.
him: just being able to hear you breathing makes it worth it.
him: dont hang up just yet baby, i want to feel as if im with you when you fall asleep.

so he stayed on the phone with me till i fell asleep
i love that man so much.

Aw there have been so many things since he left but recently we were talking about us and he said, "you're my rock on the homefront." The he added, "you are my rock who just may get a rock!" Haven;t smiled that big in a loooooong time!!

last night DF and I were getting ready to go to dinner for my birthday with my bestfriend and he was going to take a shower and I was ready except I needed to put my makeup on and so I knocked on the door so I could use the bathroom mirror and as he was jumping in he stuck his head out of the shower to tell me not to put any on because he thought I was more beautiful without it.....

way to make me cry...

then yesterday I was having a bad day at work and he called me on my lunch break and I started bursting out into tears on the phone and he told me.. babe you have got to calm down, the stress at work doesnt mean anything.... just wait until you come home I will make it all better. Hearing your voice brightens my day and reminds me how much you mean to me OMG he made me cry more lol

oh and the other day somehow his phone was left in my purse when we left the gym and the next morning I left my phone at home on the dresser... well I just used his phone to call mine so i could ask him a question and in his phone my name is baby.... I thought that was really cute :)

gosh I miss DB.....Yesterday I got the first message from him in over 2 weeks and i won't write it all, but somewhere in it, it said "I can't wait to get out of this shithole, so i can come home to spend every second with you...I miss you soo much and i love you sooo much...your my everything...i will be home soon and i hope your still waiting for me!" awww i cried...i was soooo happy to hear from him...:)

Only 15 more days till im in his arms!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :):):):):)

ohh man, this is a tough one...DB says thee cutest things to me all the time..the 5 letters i have from him are FILLED with really sweet things..
ok, top two..first ones long so be forwarned :)

1. ..i told him that he would not be my shadow but walk hand in hand with me for all of eternity :teehee you also have to know that weve had a lot of issuess in the past, especially with trust..his mom had a lot of problems and was not a good mother at all so because of her hes never been able to trust women..until me :D

Well he amazes me everyday, but umm oh just to day actually he had sent me a text saying that he was going to the freedom calling center to call me, and a few mins. later I sent him a reply saying "do you think i have enough time to run outside and smoke really quick?" and he had said "ya its gonna be like a half hour before i get there, thats how long it takes me to get there so no worries"

so I responded and told him "baby you dont need to go that far just to talk to me are you crazy just get online!" he says "babylove you know damn well that i would walk to the moon if i had to just to hear your beautiful voice!"

Awwww it made me so happy but ya he says stuff like that all the time!!!

and while he was deployed he send me an email saying " Do you ever look at that moon at night. Sometimes I do and I think that you are looking at the same moon at the same time. And it makes me miss you even more.so just look up at the moon every once in a while and think of me cuz I’ll be think of you baby. " :eek god i started bawling, cuz i thought the same thing.

so my DH is a hopeless romantic but has a hard time showing it, just like most of your fellas. My top 3 comments/moments were from when we were dating...

first a little back story...
I met martin in 2003, i didn't think much of him. my exact impression of him was "his a nice kid" we became off again on again friends for the 3 years.
Then in 2005 i meet him again... then i thought "his a nice guy" but i had a jerk of a boyfriend then. Martin was my shoulder to cry and complain to when things weren't right with the other guy. we didn't start dating till Aug 2005.

1) My number one... all time favorite... can never Imagen being topped was... drum roll please.
Aug 2005- the day before i was suppose to leave. We were laying (fully clothed) cuddling in his bed.
I giggled then he said "what?"
I said "i never NEVER wanted or could see myself getting married, but i can see that happening with you many many years from now if thats what you wanted"
he giggled and then i said "what?" with worried eyes
He said "i was wonder if it was to soon to ask you to marry me"
We had been dating less then a week. A day after the end of 2005 we were engaged. By may of 2006 we were married. We even tied a thin rope around our wedding band fingers that day, and we wore it right up till we got married

2) Aug 2005- DH just dropped me off at the airport from my first visit to Hawaii. When i got home after the 5 hour plane ride i called him,
he said this "i didn't i could do it, that was the hardest thing i have ever done"
i asked "what was"
He said " let you walk away... (after a long pause) all the away back to the car people were looking at me... one couple even stopped me and asked if i was ok cause i was crying so much. When i finally got to the car i sat there crying for like 30 mins, i hit the dashboard and cursed and cried. I didn't even cry when i left for boot camp! I haven't cried in a long time. i couldn't believe i was stupid enough to let you go"

3) July 2005- I'm in a car texting DH (who was just a friend that lived in Hawaii at the time) and i text him "hey I'm going to take a nap, all this pretend fooling around has made me sleepily" then i texted him " *as my eyes close* night martin"
he texts back "*i whisper in your ear as you fall asleep* i love you laura *then kisses your forehead* I'll be here when you wake up"
i was shocked... i didn't know what to say... i had a boyfriend. But right then i knew i loved him to and i was done with the other guy. I still have the text on my old phone of the 1st time he said "i love you" to me.

I woke up in the middle of the night with him holding me and he was telling me how much he loves me and all this sweet stuff, he didn't realise I was awake... hehehe too cute.

the Sweetest thing would have been the other night. we were chatting on yahoo as allways and he goes " I am commited to you baby , and I love you" I melted... but he is reall ygood at being sweet..

It'd have to be the time that I told him I was just an average girl. He responded with "You are beautiful, smart, funny, witty, you're anything but average in my eyes, ninja girl"

Ok i'm feeling sappy! What's the sweetest thing your SO has written in a letter or said over the phone while they were away??

Mine would probably be when he said, "When I was younger, i'd think of what i'd want my wife to be like, and that girl couldn't even compare to you" ahh i miss him so much!!
My db always say sweet things to me and he dont even know how much it means to me. One of the first things was he told me he loved me through a text after we was only talking for like a month. So I replied wrong text or wrong person, u said u loved me. And he wrote back nope right person, u dont have to say it back just know that I love you!!! That was only the beginning!!!

The most memorable one is when he was about to go to Iraq (at this time we were on a break lol) and he said I will do anything to get u back. Anything! So I was listing stuff and he was saying- done, done, done! Like it was no problem and I have not had a problem with him since!!!

I can go on and on but I dont want to bore u ppl lololol

DB says some of the most amazing things. And he says them a lot.
One of the most recent:

Victoria i Love you with all my heart and i always will you are the best thing that has ever happened to me and if i lose you i wouldn't know what to do because not only would i be losing my only true love i would be losing my best friend.

(Oh. And he told me that when we got back together, he started to want kids. He was completely against it before me so :yay .)

Hubs is the ultimate corndog of sarcasm, when we were just dating, to make it official he asked me one night after a month of dating if i wanted to supersize our relationship lol.. i said yes and couldnt stop laughing so he followed it up with OK, i owe him 49 cents every week lol

hmmm thats hard cuz he is always sayin somethin sweet...the latest is ....

I text him every morning when I get up .... well the other morning I said "morning" and he replied with "morning..how is my beautiful wife to be"

then mom said something yesterday and was like "tell your girlfriend .blah blah blah ... " and eric said... "she is not my girlfriend, she is my future wife"

but he wont say fiance bc he hasnt "officially asked me" because he is going to talk to my dad first.....and then ask me "on one knee"

aww all of these are so adorable!!

my boyfriend isn't really one for saying cute things and i can't really think of the cutest thing he has ever said but the most recent thing was [and he wasn't even talking to me but told me later]
Friend: how much do you love this girl on a scale of 1 to 10
Him: 12
Friend: dude i said on a scale from 1-10, 12 is not an option.
Him: well i love her a 12.

DH isn't too "cutesy" most of the time. But while I was struggling through the tail-end of my 2nd pregnancy, he wrote me a super sweet card and told me "You make pregnancy look easy and beautiful, and our children are so lucky to have you as their mother."

Tears! :)

well every day he says something new and cute. But one main one that sticks out is when he called me his rib. told me God created me from him. It just really made me feel special :D

He told me I was the best thing to ever happen to him

omg kevin and i do that! and he has said something very similiar... we always look at the moon together when we are missing each other real bad. i hope that didnt like cheapen (?) what he said because its so amazing!

I can't think of the absolute cutest thing right now... but I'm just going to pick one of them.

One time we were outside, sitting under a tree in the park and he said, "If someone had come up to me a year ago when we met and they told me that we would be in love, I would have told them that they were stupid... because I've never been this lucky."

Right before he had to turn his cell phone off for basic, he texted me,
"Don't worry, hun. We've got our whole lives ahead of us; four months is nothing!"

And he sent me this in a letter from boot, which I think is THE sweetest thing he's ever said to me:

When we're standing in formation, when we're waiting in line at the chow hall, when we're marching, during the church services, at night when I'm laying in my bunk looking at the cieling, when I'm scrubbing the bathroom floors, when I hear the guys singing Hannah Montana songs, definitely when we're talking about our girls back home, when I look at the stars during the morning PT, when I see this white cat that has been hanging around our barracks, when I hear about the hurricanes (that make me nervous), when I'm making my bed in the morning... almost everything reminds me of you.

We were talking about different ways to propose to a girl, and I'm pretty proud of my ideas. This place has made me realize how much I love you and how much of a blessing you are to me. Without you I wouldn't be as brave as I am now. I know that I can withstand anything here because it's getting me back home to you. You mean everything to me.

Nothing will ever take you off my mind except for maybe a bullet to the brain. He means so much to me and for him to say that means a whole lot to me :lovestruck
