Okay, so DB gets a 4 day pass at the end of August, and I'm flying down to Texas to see him before he deploys. I went onto cheaptickets.com, but OMG. They are anything but cheap!
Any suggestions on how to get the cheapest flights??!
I'm trying to work my ass off this summer so I can pay for it, but I'm gonna need a pretty cheap flight cause I'm gonna need to pay for a hotel also.
Pleeeease help!
You could try calling the airlines?

I always try orbitz or the last minute travelocity ones. They are usually the cheapest. Also, since your man will be on the base, he can get a room in the hotel on the base and its SO much cheaper!! I went andsaw DH there before he went to Afghanistan. There's also a rental car place on the base that gives MUCH better rates to the military. I think we paid about $150 for the hotel and $150 for the rental car for the full week I was there. I checked into civilian hotels and cars and it would have cost us triple forthe car alone(we're both under 25). So try those!! Also, try to see if you can get flights on Southwest Airlines because they are usually pretty cheap!

Thanks for the advice!!! I tried Southwest, I'm pretty sure the cheapest thing I'm going to get is going to be between 350-400 bucks. UGH.

I spent hours online looking for flights. My advice you find it cheap...DONT WAIT. I waited 1 hour trying to get a hold of DB and flights went up $200. And I have found sometimes the actual airline is cheaper than cheaptickets, or expedia websites. I dont know if Southwest is where you are, but sometimes they have cheap flights. And sometimes they offer $99 Flights when you call if they dont have anymore online. Good Luck

Does Jetblue still fly? I know they used to be pretty cheap. A friend went from NY to CA for $350ish with them. Might be worth a look?
