I am moving to Germany on the 14th of July and arrive in Frankfurt on the 15th. DH and I found out today that he will be headed to the field before I arrive, because of this i am left scrambling to find a way from the airport to grafenwoehr where I will be moving. Because I will have a few heavy bags with me and already do not know the area the idea of a train ride alone is not looking to be such a great idea I was wondering if anyone had any idea of any other way i may be able to get to Graf from frankfurt any help would be greatly appreciated

You can take the bus to graf through Hanau. Usually at baggage claim there are people standing around in uniform. Let them know who you are and where you need to go and they will get it worked out for you. You are supposed to lift your own bags, but they usually take pity on women who arrive alone.

If there is no one there, go to the USO and they can contact Hanau for you to make the arrangements.

You guys should have a sponsor of some sort, talk to them... I have never heard of someone having to try to find their own way the first time... If you don't have a sponsor ask for one, and if the one you do have isn't helping ask for a new one. ::hugs:: I wish I was in town cuz I'd make DH come with me to get you!

Tell your husband to contact the FRG. They should be able to help out. Or talk to his
1SG about the situation. They should be able to figure out something.

Have your husband talk to his command, arrangements should be made to have someone meet you there

Wondering if everything work out for your transportation?

Go to the USO at the Frankfurt airport and they will get you on the bus to Graf. You shouldn't have to find your own transportation.

Thank you all for all the the help. I did look into everything that everyone has said. I also had a couple of offers for rides to grafenwoehr If i needed one. The chain of command ended up giving DH a very last minute okay to come get me in Frankfurt the day I arrive.
Just as long as that doesn't change before I arrive my travel arrangements should be worked out. :D

That being said, he will still be in the field so anyone who is in Germany now I'm sure at one point or another I will need help with something along the way

Wow, I realize he'll want the time off and to come and get you...but that is a loooong drive. I'd have taken the USO transport. Much easier.
