Have any of you ever heard of that phrase before?
"I think I had some of the devils marmalade."
I even googled it with no success. Sounds like a southern saying.
Any ideas?

Bump for an answer.
She said, "I'll explain this is two weeks. But i think i had some of the devils marmalade."
Not sure what that means. The only similar reference I found was from a musical about a guy who sold his soul to the devil's right hand woman, Lady Marmalade."
Stumped!

Sounds like it could actually be a recipe of some kind. The references I found to it seemed to indicate a "devil's marmalade" is a sauce. It was used on spareribs in some restaurant.

I saw that too, but I know she is making a literary reference or its a saying referring to her behavior lately.
I think it means she got all caught up with all this new-found independence and money in the bank and lost sight of what used to feel important to her, like the guy in the play did.
She said she would explain it later and she is supposed to call in a couple hours. Hopefully she'll explain it then.
Still would like to know if anybody else has used/heard/knows this expression.
Thanks,
JB

So she wouldn't tell me! She said I have to wait until I get home on leave to find out. Apparently it has something to do with an episode of a TV show she saw and we are going to watch it together when I get home. I'm thinking maybe an episode of Sex and the City. I bought her the DVD Box Set for Christmas for her to watch while I am deployed and that is the only TV series she has on DVD.
Any Sex and the City fans on here? (I know there has to be several)

Definitely not, lol. It has something to do with hw she has been acting lately and apparently it is a reference to a TV show and I suspect the show is Sex and the City.
