I have a question from a future SD wife I talk to online. Her husband won't be pulling into SD until September. So, she has about a month. She tried to get on the waiting list 5 months ago, because his orders said he was going to SD. But they wouldn't let her yet. So, is there a better chance now? I told her to e-mail them, so she is doing that now, but I was wondering if any of you had an experience like this?

I could be wrong, but I think they have to wait until they're out here and they can show his orders. :dunno I do believe that if that is the case, they're considered homeless and will be a top priority.

you can get on 30 days in advance of getting here. but you wont actually start moving up on the list till someone shows up in person.

Also, you said that he will be pulling in here. are they doing a homeport change or is this a new ship? That changes the whole game on the waiting list. LOL

I don't think it's a new ship. I just e-mailed her and ask her those questions. So, we'll see what she says.

"nah, see his home port was japan but because the ship is deconning the new home port will be washington but hes supposed to be off by then. His orders say san diego in september."

so he technically is stationed in Japan. Then she can't get on the list till he checks in to his command in cali.
