I need to see an optometrist and get a new Rx because my eyes are getting bad. I know that because I'm BF-ing I will need a new script when I stop but I need one now--I'm getting headaches and I don't feel safe driving long distances because of focusing issues. Do I just call the tricare appointment line and go that way to get an appointment?

I just called an off post Optometrist's office, and asked if they took Tricare. I made my appt. and the Optometrist's office handled all of the paper work. I think Tricare covers at the very least one exam per year, with a dilation. At least that's what I have been getting. lol. :)

yeah what the other lady stated. But just be warned you will only get one eye exam per year ( i don't know if it is fiscal year or year from your last)

I always go to America's best. 2 pairs of glasses (lense & frames) for 69.95 and the eye exam is included

i am going to the eye center in Walmart. It sucks because I despise Walmart but I needed a Saturday appointment and I know they are good. Walmart's eye center will take care of ALL the tricare stuff too since the doctor is a vetran lol

Lenscrafters in the mall (by kohls) does sat and sun appointments. Thats where I go. Tricare only covers glasses exams, if you want contacts you're on your own.

Yes like Instant oatmeal said, Tricare will only cover the exam. You pay the cost of all materials.
