View Full Version : Ladies who know THE date... CarLooSHoo 07-10-2008, 01:07 AM How far along in the deployment did you find it out? I want to know when DH is coming home sooo bad :worry Ma*Becca 07-10-2008, 01:09 AM I think it was about halfway through it...I really can't remember that well....He left last June and I think he got his new orders in Feb of this year.... armygf08 07-10-2008, 01:10 AM DB told me I think last week or the week before when he was coming home for r&r...not till march sometime :( But he will only have 3 months left :) BrittanyJo 07-10-2008, 01:26 AM I had a range but never an actual date until around 24 hours ahead of time. foxytango 07-10-2008, 01:31 AM I'm where your at girl..... They told my DB he might get it sometime in July or August, but they said that about a month and a half ago, and there has been no word uttered about it to him since. DB said they are short people and busy and that that is the last thing on their minds.:sigh:no carmel11725 07-10-2008, 01:44 AM I had a range but never an actual date until around 24 hours ahead of time. same. sera-jeen 07-10-2008, 01:49 AM I had a range but never an actual date until around 24 hours ahead of time. That's how it's gonna be for me too. It's driving me crazy! And the range keeps moving... :sigh kittieb 07-10-2008, 01:50 AM I had a range but never an actual date until around 24 hours ahead of time. I have a date in mind, and hubby said give it a couple of days to a week he should be home within that time. Everything says that he won't be home too late from what we're thinking FratchTX 07-10-2008, 02:04 AM DB got his R&R date 3 weeks into his 15 month deployment. He re-enlisted while in theater and as part of hi signing bonus he got to choose when he came home for R&R. of course no word on the actual homecoming though...thats still far too early I am sure...but i do know the guys they replaced only served 12.5 months out of a scheduled 15! wb3690 07-10-2008, 03:34 AM I had a range but never an actual date until around 24 hours ahead of time. Ditto......at about 2 months before they were coming home from long deployments we'd get a tentative range of dates.......like XX Day for the first group to come home and then they'd all by home by XXX day. Does that make sense? And we wouldn't always know what group our spouse was in until right at the end. heck one day I was shopping and got a phone call and he said "Baby I'm on the mainland! I'll be home tomorrow morning!!!" I about flipped and wasn't expecting him home for a week! Someone who was coming home got sick and had to wait so he was told to throw his stuff in a bag and get on the plane.....craziest homecoming ever! kittieb 07-10-2008, 04:26 AM Ditto......at about 2 months before they were coming home from long deployments we'd get a tentative range of dates.......like XX Day for the first group to come home and then they'd all by home by XXX day. LOL I hope that happens to me ;) I'm so close to the freaking air port, if I'm working I'd be able to get out of it. SAMSET 07-10-2008, 08:14 AM I don't have an exact date. Just a short range. BUT I expect to have that range change a million more times before he actually gets here....I found the date out about a month ago (going into month 10 of the deployment) and we have about 3 more months until homecoming....give or take of course. missyanne24 07-10-2008, 08:23 AM I've been told we were VERY lucky...My DH gave me a date (June 4) and that date never changed. He gave me that date about 2 months into a 7 month deployment. It was exactly 7 months from the night I dropped him off. Good luck getting that date... I hated the "approximate" part of it. I wanted to KNOW. njngwife 07-10-2008, 08:43 AM My dh has only been gone 16 days and I can't wait to get his date!!! I got a looonnngg way to go. LindsayErin 07-10-2008, 09:32 AM I knew right away.... after the 1st week he was gone I knew. Imissmyscooter 07-10-2008, 12:38 PM We had a range as well.. but of course, dates weren't confirmed until about a few days before he came home. THEN of course, those dates changed and flights were messed up, etc.... ugh. Stupid Deployments. fridayheather 07-10-2008, 12:41 PM I had a range but never an actual date until around 24 hours ahead of time. Same here. Heck, his last deployment to Iraq I didn't even know he had left Iraq until he was in Germany and then no more contact until he was stateside. It wasn't until the night before he got home that the FRG guy called me and told me when to be at the airport. misskathee 07-10-2008, 03:50 PM well lately.. it's been changed around i found out like 3 months after deployment then it changed about 2-3 times. so we're looking at late july for r&r and he left in march BradleysMommy 07-10-2008, 03:54 PM He's been gone since the 21st of April and he just told me tonight... Rain. 07-10-2008, 03:55 PM DH will be home next week and I still don't fully have a 100% set date. Just know next week sometime cangelicious 07-10-2008, 04:08 PM we have a range not set date yet for sure SIMMYBABEZ 07-10-2008, 04:12 PM I pretty much knew from day one... but it was only speculation. Around the 3rd month he told me the date. But one couldn't completely trust it. It was 12 months to the day that their unit left. But um, dh was in one of the groups that left early to set up, so it was about 13 months to the date. |
