I have seen that white/blue rose fabric before and thought it was beautiful!! Jennygirl 07-10-2008, 12:58 PM I got it at walmart on clearence!! I got over 12 yards of fabric for like 20 bucs! sunshyne 07-10-2008, 01:00 PM Good deal!! You have to post pics of your projects when you finish..or even when you are just working on them! I love seeing them! Jennygirl 07-10-2008, 01:01 PM Im going to start cutting, I need a ton of squares and triangles. sunshyne 07-10-2008, 01:03 PM I keep telling myself I am going to attempt to make something one of these days with triangles...but I just haven't done it yet :lol Jennygirl 07-10-2008, 01:06 PM I going to attempt to do a friendship star quilt, ugh! LOL im so nervous, my cutting is so bad! sunshyne 07-10-2008, 01:08 PM are you using a rotary cutter? Jennygirl 07-10-2008, 01:08 PM The plain blue is the back of the quilt, and then everything else...My dh who never attempted to something like this will do the same pattern but his are plaids. Jennygirl 07-10-2008, 01:09 PM are you using a rotary cutter? unfortunately yes LOL even with the straight edge i cut crocked...LOL sunshyne 07-10-2008, 01:09 PM Cool!!! Sounds great and I can't wait to see yours and his! Jennygirl 07-10-2008, 01:10 PM Hey it says after i assemble a patch of the quilt i should press it...is there anything special that needs to be done with the pressing? sunshyne 07-10-2008, 01:10 PM unfortunately yes LOL even with the straight edge i cut crocked...LOL I bought myself a yard stick...it is thicker(higher) than a regular ruler and I use that to guide me. It helps a lot! sunshyne 07-10-2008, 01:10 PM Hey it says after i assemble a patch of the quilt i should press it...is there anything special that needs to be done with the pressing? Not sure, sorry :blush Jennygirl 07-10-2008, 01:12 PM i wonder what the ironing does LOL I never iron anything LOL OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH a yard stick! I should get one! sunshyne 07-10-2008, 01:13 PM I do iron the fabric if it has a lot of creases in them...and I iron the front of the quilt before I put it all together. ETA...I iron the front after that is all put together and just before I attach the middle and back. Jennygirl 07-10-2008, 01:17 PM Hey do you use that quilt spray for assembling? sunshyne 07-10-2008, 01:18 PM no, I just use pins Jennygirl 07-10-2008, 01:19 PM Yeah I did that with DS's but we saw that at the store and wondered if it worked well! bailliesbags 07-10-2008, 02:03 PM Hey, they want your to iron the seams open most likely, I think in the end it is suppose to give you a cleaner flat look, you know when you start sewing together a bunch of triangles or stars if you don't have the seams all going the same way things could get lumpy. I have never used the spray stuff, but I know people who swear by it. Have fun! |
