View Full Version : Thanksgiving in San Diego
Brandi 07-10-2008, 02:05 PM I know it's still a bit early but I just wanted to see who all has plans for turkey day. Me and the kiddos are going to be out there alone while Jason's out to sea and since we don't have family out there, I assume we won't really be doing much of anything. Not that we usually go all out anyway, but I thought it could be cool for some of us to get together and celebrate. I don't know how many of you will be up for it since a lot of people go to see family and such, but it's just a thought to keep in mind for anyone who might be alone.
MelissaMc424 07-10-2008, 02:08 PM Sounds like fun.. we'll most likely be going up to G's grandmas yet again this year..
Rileysmom 07-10-2008, 02:08 PM You are always welcome at our house too, if people are gone as well! Ryan may or may not be home, but I will be having a huge feast regardless! (L)
We also are going to be here its just me and Chuck so that would be fun to have a get together.
Brandi 07-10-2008, 02:16 PM I can cook just about anything except the turkey. You really would not want to eat it if I cooked it, I assure you. They never come out right :lol I can do anything else though. I make good mac n cheese, greenbean casserole, pecan pie, mashed taters, or just about anything else that anyone requests. I like to cook, just not big pieces of meat that either get horribly underdone or overdone :lol

can you post your recipe for cooking it? :lol I have tried for the last 5 or 6 years to cook them and they almost always taste too dry or even worse they don't get all the way done. :sick

Well I get butter and melt it a bit, then I mix it with rosemary and garlic and whatever else I think might taste good. Then I lift the skin of the turkey and stuff it all in there so it bakes into the actual meat and not just the skin (remember to leave the skin on the turkey dont remove it). I cook it depending on the size of the turkey and continue to inject the butter that melts out back into the turkey...
I got one for baking a ham too...oh man Im hungry now..yummmmmmmm:hungry

Party at Kristi's house :lol I was just putting feelers out to see if there will be any other lonely, husbandless chicks that need some friends to hang with. It's depressing spending the holidays alone :sick but if no one else needs company, I still definitely plan on coming... or we will bring all of SOS to your place and party down :rofl
Kristi that sounds fun. I will talk to my dh I am sure as long as other dudes are there he will be good to go.
