Thanks! It's a smaller version of my dream wedding ring actually and he had no idea. Seeing as how I was kind-of sort-of engaged to my ex...but he wouldn't get me my dream ring. So I told him "that's okay...the man who is my true soulmate will buy that ring for me." DB surprised me with it after he went back to Iraq from R&R. :D The best part? He had no idea that it was my dream wedding ring. He just said it jumped out at him so he bought it. It was the best package I've ever received!!

i LOVE it...it's very "me" :) DB got it in Bahrain while he was deployed...he was way too excited about it and ended up telling me he got it on the phone one day so it wasn't a huge surprise or anything but i didn't know what it looked like. then when he was home on leave last month he took my hand and held it while we were kissing one day and then slipped it on my finger. :)

I don't have a picture of my promise ring but it is just a gold band in the shape of a heart. In the center is an itty bitty diamond. It is really cute & something we are passing on to our daughter! (L)

I never expected a promise ring especially since he gave it to me just a couple of days after we met. And I always thought promise rings were dumb! Why would I need a promise ring & then an engagement ring when he actually proposed? But when he gave it to me, I thought it was really sweet. :smitten I always wore it on my right hand!

horrible horrible picture. but here it is.. its been sized since this picture was taken, and its 1 bigger stone and they decrease in size on the sides.

i got this for christmas of last year with a cross necklace ... i got the necklace first, and then he gave me one more box! i thought it was going to be earrings... because hes given me a set of earrings and a necklace before. and it was a ring!

thank god we had the "are we ready to be engaged yet" talk like 2 days before, because otherwise i might have been confused!!!

DB and I talked about marriage/proposals today.

i shall be recieving a engagement ring in the near future :)

i was one that didn't understand promise rings either... that is until i met DB... he was stationed in Germany and I went to visit him the week before he deployed to Iraq... we were laying in bed one night and he handed me a box and once I opened it he told me that he wanted to know that the upcoming months were going to be hard but he promised to make it work and wanted to know if i would wear the ring as a symbol of my promise to do the same... also, it helps to ward off other men lol EVERYONE asks me if i'm engaged lol and i proudly say not exactly, i'm promised to the most amazing guy ever and thats enough for now =)

i told DB i'm not getting married until I graduate from college because I need to finish that committment up before embarking on the next chapter of my life... that was just the plan I always had, and he understands :)


the ring is very simple, but he picked it out so i LOVE it...

I don't have a picture but my promise ring is my DB's class ring. . .he said he felt bad cuz he didn't have the money to get an actual promise ring (but I was totally ok with it!). He was so sweet when he gave it to me though (at least I think he was!) We were at his going away party (he's in bct) and he went inside to "get a drink" well when he came back outside he pulled out his class ring and took my other "promise" ring off (it was a fake one from sum lia sophia thing) and he had his friend sing I Swear by John Micheal Montgomery and he made a big speech in front of everyone there about how he was coming home to marry me and how much he loved me. Then he kinda dipped me back and kissed me like they did in old movies and then slipped the ring on my finger and secured it with my old one. It was so sweet and even though I knew Iwas going to b wearing it while he was away it shocked me that he made that big a deal out of it. Probably cheesy but I thought it was cute!

That's so cute. :teehee My DH kinda did the same thing. Although he did get down on one knee and he said "I promise to marry you in 2 years" we were still in school so he was going to marry me after he was done with bootcamp. :wub

I actually really really love this ring. I wish it was my wedding ring but with a white gold band. :teehee Not that I don't LOVE my wedding ring I do but this one was the first ring I got from him so it's really special and I love the look of it. If it wouldn't be so expensive to get this ring but with real gems and white gold (not that I care about the gems but my DH does lol) then I would have asked him to get me the same one but eh I'm too cheap to ask. :lol

My promise ring is just a cheap little silver walmart band. I don't care for receiving fancy gifts and have a general rule that he isn't allowed to spend more than $10 on me for holidays and such. He once asked me why I don't wear rings and I sarcastically/jokingly (as is my way) replied that I would never put a ring on my finger. So before he moved to Japan he showed up with that ring on a silver chain saying that if I wouldn't wear it on my finger I could always wear it around my neck. :lovekiss I put it on my finger of course, and two months later he proposed with a $2500 engagement ring, which makes my little $20 walmart ring look just precious. I'll keep it forever!

aw, those are all beautiful rings. i'll probably just get an engagement ring because my boyfriend doesn't believe in promise rings, he thinks that you should just get engaged. but i think promise rings are really sweet.
