Are the guys allowed to wear any rings aside from wedding bands? I'm pretty Irish and I was considering getting DB a Claddagh ring. Also, any thoughts on the idea?

PeppermintRei 07-14-2008, 09:21 PM Well, don't quote me on this, but I believe the official regulations only allow the wear of a wedding band. I think in some cases they can wear a class ring if the graduated from a military academy, but I've never heard wither way on that one. It partially depends on the command. I've seen people wear other rings in some units and other units are very strict and follow the rules to the letter. It's a nice idea, have you thought about a dog tag or something else he could wear on the chain instead? sandykay 07-14-2008, 09:23 PM I would say only wedding band and in some fields they can't even wear them (especially if working on the planes, they can get them caught and such). I would say it is up to his command though PeppermintRei 07-14-2008, 09:24 PM I take it back. I found the navy regulations. They state one ring per hand is allowed while in uniform but cannot be worn on the thumb. Check out Section 2.6 http://buperscd.technology.navy.mil/bup_updt/508/unireg/chapter2/chapter_2.htm rosebud* 07-14-2008, 09:25 PM it depends. DH doesn't wear his ring due to his job. in his personal time he can wear what he wants, but most guys I know usually don't like to wear their rings at work ( we are an aviation family) because they don't want to A screw them up or B get hurt. I would say it is up to his command though :yes Make sure you know whether his job allows them and if there are any safety hazards. You may also want to avoid silver or nickel because it bends really easily and can get trapped on their finger. It may be best to consult a jeweler about it. andreacc 07-14-2008, 09:31 PM Df wears an engagement ring to work. rosebud* 07-14-2008, 09:34 PM :yes Make sure you know whether his job allows them and if there are any safety hazards. Both are gold, and he removes them if he has to do anything other than desk work... ~*Dawn*~ 07-16-2008, 01:11 AM DH is only allowed to wear his wedding ring, and that's only when he's not working with his electronic thingie-ma-bobs. When he can't wear it he puts it on a chain around his neck. torie. 07-16-2008, 04:18 AM I take it back. I found the navy regulations. Check out Section 2.6 http://buperscd.technology.navy.mil/bup_updt/508/unireg/chapter2/chapter_2.htm :thumbsup DB has a ring on his middle finger on his right hand and never got in trouble. So I was about to post and say I think they can have a ring on each hand. I love those rings! If it is sentimental to you two, then definitely get one! Reefersgirl0402 07-16-2008, 07:02 AM it depends.
