Hey Ladies!

My B-Day is this Friday :blush UNFORTUNATELY, DB is missing it because his guy friends planned a Cabo trip this week... but I won't get started on that :rolleyes. Anyways, he promised to make it up to me when he got back, and told me we could do WHATEVER i wanted to do for my birthday.

I'm wondering if you guys have any suggestions? Just a one-day thing, not too expensive...

I was thinking maybe a ferry trip to Coronado and spending the day there, or a day trip up to Disneyland or Six Flags, or ?????????....... :nutts

I'm stumped!!!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :D TIA!

They are nice! DB and I went on one in 2003. It was a Hornblower cruise and had dinner and dancing. It was really nice because it went under the Coronado bridge :) So BTDT :lol but thanks for the suggestion!

Not sure about day activities, but I have heard dinner at The Melting Pot is quite an experience to be had.

Before DB went to OCS we went to Forever Fondue in La Jolla. It was super nice and romantic!! I definitely want to do fondue again at some point, but something we've never done before for the bday.

(I'm sorry I'm so difficult!!!!!!!! :lmao)

What about the gondala rides over off Coronado?

Go to a classy restaurant in the Gaslamp district and then walk the harbor?

Mr. A's?

Guess it all depends on your idea of romance :puzz

:edit Mystery Theater Cafe
Drive in movie with dinner
Miniature golf
Eat at Flash Point and walk the beach together

Do an early morning breakfast and then hit up the lake for some fishing

Oooh gondola rides sound like fun... I had no idea they did that off Coronado! I'm going to look into that.

And as far as "romantic" goes... I guess during the day I would just want to do something fun, that we haven't done before.. then ideally go back home, freshen up, and have a romantic dinner or something in the evening.

Yeah, i was thinking of maybe doing the Karl Strauss brunch next Sunday with him. It's in Mira Mesa i believe, and it's like $25 per person for a really good buffet brunch plus FREE-FLOWING mimosas! Plus, it's in a really pretty garden setting with a pond and coy (sp?) fish.

I highly recommend it!!

If you like Mediterranean Food, I recommend Dussini. My husband and I won a gift certificate at our last family day and it was really nice. Here's their website, http://www.dussini.com/

If you want to do the Disneyland trip and something special, make reservations at the Blue Bayou Restaurant. It's the fancy-pants restaurant inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Pretty, fun and charming. :)
