I need opinions. I'm looking at getting a photo editing software.

I'm looking at getting either:
1. Paint Shop Pro Photo X2
2. Roxio Easy Media Creator Suite 10
3. Adobe Photoshop Elements 6

Give me opinions both positive and negative. I am getting into photography and have been practicing a lot w/ my camera. Need to get the photo editing software now.

Thanks everyone

First things first... have you ever used an editing program before? What do you want it to do?

The most I've really done is when I used Shutterfly playing w/ some of the settings. I want to be able to clean up the pics some, or do where I can have the picture in black and white w/ part of it in color. Just to have fun with it. Not sure if I want to turn this into a part time job down the road or not.

I swear by Photoshop. I used to have the full version on my old computer, and I now have Elements and love it! I d/l'ed the trial version of Paint Shop Pro and really didn't care for it. If you check out their websites, they usually offer a free trial, that's how I made my decision when I was looking. Good luck! :goodvibes

Photoshop is a great program but if you have never used one before it may be a little difficult to navigate. I have PSP and Photoshop and honestly I love them both. I would suggest PSP to start out and you can always move up to Photoshop when you get into doing much more technical stuff.

I would suggest Photoshop Elements 6. From what it sounds like you want to do, I think you may outgrow PSP very fast and want to upgrade anyway. I find PSE very user friendly and easy to do. One thing to do is check for free trials to see how you like the different software platforms.

Thanks girls. I think I'll try the trials of both PSP and Photoshop and see what I like the best. I tend to learn computer programs quickly so I don't think I'll get too stumped on it.
