View Full Version : S/O of Britney Thread!!
*lauren* 07-18-2008, 03:04 PM recently there were snips of rumors that she may be pregnant again. i believe they were discredited, but it still raises the question:
do you think she should be allowed to have MORE children?
in my opinion, she had her chance with her children and shouldn't be allowed to have more. but i can also see how restricting someone's reproductive rights is a very dangerous thing to do. comments, thoughts, arguments, waffles? discuss.

If only unfit parents could be "not allowed" to have children, :lmao
*Sarah* 07-18-2008, 03:07 PM I dont think anyone has the right to say that a person can not reproduce. However, if CPS gets involved, they can take the baby from her shortly after the birth if they see fit.
I think as society we should focus on teen pregnancy and woman taking drugs while pregnant. Britney has enough money to at least pay someone to provide for her child if need be. Who cares what she does?
*lauren* 07-18-2008, 03:29 PM What about requiring people to have to get a license before becoming parents?
ilovekale 07-18-2008, 03:30 PM eh, if she wants to have more kids, we can't stop her...i'm more concerned about my own life. :shrug lol
Miss B Hav'n 07-18-2008, 03:34 PM I don't see any reason she shouldn't be "allowed" to have children - I'm funny like that about reproductive rights, though.
Green~Mammy 07-18-2008, 06:00 PM I do not know her, and it is also not my place to say she should not have more children. We only see what the press that stalks her wants us to see though. She has a mental illness it doesn't mean she can't recover.
Mrs.Trouble 07-18-2008, 06:05 PM It would be very unfortunate. However, I think that there would be people to intervene for the baby (given her past record). I don't think it would be right to control her reproductive rights.

are you assuming she has a mental illness based on what the media wants you to see?

I agree... I don't know Britney, therefore I have no right to make opinions on her personal life. The tabloids paint a picture to SELL... not necessarily to make her look good, or to even be truthful.
It seems to me that she has a lot of issues that she needs time to work on. So long as her family and close circle are supportive and help her help herself, I don't care what she does.
SweetSavvi 07-19-2008, 05:48 AM i think she should be the good mother her children deserve before bringing more children into the world. im not saying at all that she is necessarily a bad mother,i just feel she could do better. after all we dont know her personally we just know what the media portrays her as, unfortunately.

Going off of Sarah's idea of involvement of CPS...I say: If she wants to reproduce, she should be able to. If the CPS sees her unfit to care for those children, sorry. She should get the help she needs so she can prove that she is fully capable and healthy enough to care for her little ones. They don't deserve to be raised in an unstable home just as much as she doesn't deserve to be told she can't have any more children.
OneSailorsGirl25 07-19-2008, 06:58 AM I think that if she's already pregnant, there isn't much that can be done about her having more children. Secondly, it is pretty darn unethical to stop women from having children, even though they may not be good mothers, and even though they may make poor life choices. If its illegal and unethical to sterilize poor women in the slums, its still illegal and unethical to sterilize rich women in Hollywood. I guess its just not up to anybody else if a woman who can afford to have children (even though maybe she shouldn't) wants to have another child. JMO
monkeyinabarrel 07-19-2008, 08:19 AM i don't have anything to say on this issue but i do want to say this:
i feel bad for all the girls in Hollywood who eat a sandwich and then have to battle pregnancy rumors, how would you like it is someone said "oh when are you due every time you left the house." it is cruel and emotionally damaging, esp. for the younger ones.
Green~Mammy 07-19-2008, 10:22 AM are you assuming she has a mental illness based on what the media wants you to see?
Nope based on what her people have put out.
