do you guys ship straight to your man's APO when ordering him presents?

im a little worried about sending something from newegg (tech/computer stuff) to korea...

ive heard of boxes being lost in iraq, and the companies only take responsibility until it gets to the army...

should i get it sent to me, and then put it in my next flat rate and not claim it?

what are your experiences with sending electronics to APO but not in a war zone?

I have an APO and so if they ship to an APO ( I run into a lot of places NOT shipping to me) they are usually pretty good about getting it here in a good time frame.

i have it sent to me first usually their packaging is crap so i redo it. it would bother me to send something expensive and have it broken when it gets to him

When DB was in Afghanistan all of my packages and things he ordered off of Ebay and such were delivered on time, if not ahead of schedule. It usually took about a week and a half to two weeks.

I've heard horror stories about shipping to APO addresses, thankfully DB's was fine and we had no problems. His parents were even able to ship him a guitar :)

It's true that once it's out of the post office's hands they can't really do anything about it. :shrug It sucks

i've sent a lot of things to my hubby at his APO address. if they offer it, i usually avoid the hassle of getting it shipped to me so i can ship it to him...and just ship it there.

We live in Korea and have had no problems with small electronics coming in. Sometimes it takes a month but it's usually intact. A previous thread from awhile ago mentioned a service called Ship it APO and they give you a stateside address and forward it to the APO. It's great for shopping online and even if the place doesn't ship to APO's you can use the Ship it APO service. I have used it twice so far and have been happy!

My husband orders off Newegg all the time and hasn't had any problems. He's at an FPO in Iraq.
