Okay so I just moved back in the UP/Fircrest area about a week ago( i didn't have kids or anything and didn't go out mch without DH when we lived here before). Problem is I looking for something for my almost 2 year old to do. I can't keep her in the apartment. I can't let her watch that blues clues video again. She needs to get out and play and there is no playground or any child activites at all in this apartment. Please someone point me in the direction to a local park or something. I feel terrible keeping her cooped up in here. thanks in advance.
I'll be in the area the first week of Sept and I have a 2 yr old daughter. Maybe we could get together sometime for a play date.
Otherwise, look into joining meetup.com and look for a mom's playgroup in your area!

if you went right across the narrows bridge there's great parks in gig harbor. and there's a really fun playground called the kids gig

The local library usually has group storytime/activities once or more often a week. I'm pretty sure the base has playgroups as well as the local community center.

You can always try Pt. Defiance. The place is huge with a play area, lots of trails and gardens to walk through as well as the five mile drive. My kids love going there. Or check out the website for Fircrest.

It has info on local parks and the community pool. You could also take her to Ruston Way down by the water. Hope that helps :)

The only problem going over the bridge is paying the toll.... but there are local parks I say head towards lakewood... UP has nice parks and play areas... esp over in Fircrest. There is a children's museum in downtown tacoma also

There's a SAHM group on meetup.com that's really nice. They get together for playdates a lot. My little one is too small to play. :(
I agree that there are a LOT of parks and kid places around here. I would check for playgroups on post too.
