leanne 07-21-2008, 01:33 PM shoot i just realized this is not in debates can someone move this please.
HollyJay 07-21-2008, 03:11 PM There's a kid in the second row recording the altercation from the opposite direction, I would like to see that side of the story.
I'm prone to say the bus driver was at fault for using physical force when she tried to push the student back to her seat. That's what would have started me fighting. I was surprised the student didn't hit sooner.
I had a crazy bus driver that held us hostage on the bus once because someone had bent a luggage rack (before we got on the bus) and he decided to take matters into his own hands instead of just checking the tapes from earlier that day. We all just went out the emergency exit in the back while he wasn't looking. I think bus drivers get on power trips, and it can be dangerous.
*I'm not saying the student behaved completely appropriately, especially since you can't see it from the other side, and there's no footage showing why the bus driver pulled over, but an adult should know NEVER to engage in a physical pushing battle with a student.
truzbabygirl 07-21-2008, 03:27 PM Wow...
The student held back for awhile. She tried to tell the bus driver just to let her off. Even handed her the phone to speak to the mother... which the bus driver just "THREW"....
The bus driver had her hands on the student first...
I dont believe she shouldn't fought back with the bus driver.... and the bus drivers daughter had no right to hit the girl either......
This is a sad story.
82dchick 07-21-2008, 03:30 PM It's really hard to make much sense of that video seeings most of the physical stuff, you can't see. It's hard to tell who hit who and when. I think it was also a very sticky situation for the bus driver. She is in charge of the safety of those children and by law IS NOT allowed to let them off that bus except where they are supposed to get off. I also think the 2 young girls argueing with her were being very immature. As most 15 yr. olds are. I still can't say who was right or wrong though. Too hard to tell.
From those videos, I think the bus driver should be fired and charged with assault.
The minute she pushed the girl was assault. Also, I would have her charged with malicious destruction of property if there was as much as a scratch on that cell phone.
What the hell kind of adult cannot control themself and a few teenagers. She should have spoken to the girl's mother and just gotten her to come pick up her child from the bus.
If I ever was in a situation where a bus driver was bitching me out I would call my mother beforing trying to force my way off the bus, but I am sure she would have met the bus to get me off of it even it was my fault, at least to punish me.
HOwever, the minute the bus driver hit the girl, I would have called 911, and not my mother.
She was going absolutely postal and hitting a student, if I were one of the other ones, those emergency exits would have been open and I would have bailed out of there much sooner.
I think once the bus driver used physical force against the girl, any student who felt fearful for their safety could have felt as though they were in some sort of hostage situation and I would have gotten the hell out of there
Rain. 07-21-2008, 03:53 PM I honestly am surprised the girl waited as long as she did to hit the bus driver. I would have hit her much sooner.
I don't think the bus driver should have put hand on her 1st but I do understand why she didn't just let her get off the bus. They aren't allowed to
Loretta 07-21-2008, 03:55 PM Wow...

ITA. What on earth was the driver thinking, and are these REALLY the sort of people who are in charge of our children? :ohno
Theresa 07-21-2008, 03:55 PM I agree the bus driver should have never touched the chick. However the chick should have just turned her fucking cell off and quit running her suck and they would have been home with zero incident.
leanne 07-21-2008, 06:22 PM when we lived in an area and the girls took a bus to and from school we were given a pamphlet explaining that should the child request to be let off at someone elses house or close to home because they felt threatened then they cannot detain the child.
other than that i saw the whole video including the first minute or so before she pulled over the bus and the girls right behind the driver were laughing and giggling really loudly and the girl behind them was on her cell phone so my opinion is that yeah the girl was singled out. also on one of the video comment sections when i found this stuff yesterday one of the kids that go to school with them said that the bus drivers daughter made it known that her and her mother did not like her.
personally i think any 15 yr old would probably react the same way under the same circumstances. these are not grown ups and they are going to act to pressures differently. if you listen to the kids as they exit the bus they areon their cell phones reporting to others that they are getting off the bus because the crazy bus driver is beating up a student.
i don't know i would really like to get a hold of the prosecuter and find out what the heck they were thinking letting the bus driver and her daughter off.
jennypage 07-21-2008, 06:26 PM Personally, I think that girl (the student) needs to get a swift kick in the ass. She needs a freaking attitude adjustment and quick.
That said, I don't necessarily think the bus driver made the best decision, but thats why she called for back up, there were a LOT of kids on there, and she was probably getting scared, and if that dumb kid had just SAT THE FUCK DOWN like she was told, none of this would have happened.
That girl didn't have any respect. She just LOOKS like she is a snotty little bitch.
flowerchild 07-21-2008, 07:11 PM The bus driver was def in the wrong. She should NEVER have put her hands on a child. Yes, the girl had a bit of a 'tude, but she should have just been let off the bus. The video would have shown that the driver did everything she could to keep the child on the bus. And she shouldn't have taken or thrown the phone.
The second girl was just an attention whore though. You could tell that she was just getting in on it so she could say she was a part of it. People like that drive me insane!
Does anyone know what happened in this case? I don't watch the news, so I'm clueless!
It took long enough for someone to open the emergency exit! That's what I would have done from the start lol.
As for the bus driver's daughter, I probably would have done the same thing for my mom, to be honest. But then again, my mom wouldn't have hit someone else's child.
jennypage 07-21-2008, 07:13 PM It said on another youtube video that the only one being charged in the case was the girl who shoulda sat down. I don't know after that, though.
I Heart My LT 07-22-2008, 01:29 AM The school bus driver's daughter should also be facing charges as well. School district officials should definitely NOT have their hands on students. Just MO.
