View Full Version : Bayview in SD? JustMrsJoann 07-21-2008, 07:45 PM Anyone live there that can give me opinions on the place? MelissaMc424 07-21-2008, 07:47 PM The townhomes look nice, but the apartment type places are WAY small. JustMrsJoann 07-21-2008, 07:56 PM Is there a difference? I thought they all were townhomes from the way she was making it sound today. We would have a 2 bedroom.. do you have any pictures of the actual place? do you live there now? MelissaMc424 07-21-2008, 07:59 PM Inquire about bathrooms.. you'll either get a 1 bath or a 1.5... the 1 bath places are apartment style. It "looks" like a townhome, but the downstairs is ALL garage. They're very small. piggypunkinetta 07-21-2008, 09:14 PM Meghann lived there. I'm sure she can help. Her screen name here is Meghann. Theresa 07-21-2008, 09:32 PM I LOOOOOOVED living there and miss it a whole lot! We were in a two bedroom townhome on Sky Harbor Rd. Right across the street from us was a park with the basketball courts and the community center, and directly behind us was another park. The storage is crazy awesome! There is a corner off the side in the two-car garage that has built-in shelves. The door into the house (from the garage) drops you off into a seperate laundry room that has cabinets above the washer/dryer connections and also a folding table with drawers with lots of room for things like ironing boards, brooms, etc. There is also a small coat closet inside the front door, a huge picture window with a ginormous ledge that you can sleep on, a kitchen that's literally bigger than the living room that also has a pantry and lots of cupboards. Oh, and a half bath. Small, but totally functional. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with the bathroom between them as well as the linen closet. There is also a huge closet upstairs that had linoleum floors and again, built-in shelves. Master bedroom has a nice walk-in closet with shelves and rods. Outside there is yet another storage closet on the patio that has decent space. Have I mentioned I miss it? I don't have any pictures on this computer of it though. JustMrsJoann 07-21-2008, 10:04 PM Great! Thank you SOOOOOO much ladies! And, i'll contact Megann exsNohs 07-21-2008, 10:09 PM i looked at a 3 bedroom townhome there. they were really beutiful, i just didnt like the area very much. plus my old neighbors said it had a bad crime rate. they are beutiful though. we looked at all of the housing and bayviiew and where we live now, chollas heights, seem like the most spacious. at least for 3 bedrooms. theyre both very big and roomy and beautiful. cholloas heights and bayview actually look a lot alike. :) Theresa 07-21-2008, 10:22 PM I had a friend in the 3 bedroom unit and hers was better than mine. I liked how the kitchen was more open to the living room and how big the upstairs bathroom was. Plus the master had it's own bathroom I think and the storage closet upstairs was a lot bigger, like it could have been a seperate bedroom bigger. Her kids actually used it as a place for homework, their desk was setup in there. JustMrsJoann 07-21-2008, 10:30 PM I know that we'd only get a 2 bedroom since it's my husband and our son. I appericate it so much for helping me out. What other good places are there out there? I know I can't post his rank, or else I would.. Theresa 07-21-2008, 10:39 PM Why can't you post his rank? Edited to say that his rank wouldn't make much of a difference anyway. exsNohs 07-21-2008, 10:53 PM chollas hieghts is where we live. theyre really nice. at least check them out. :) were right by a lake and tons of stores. Kaymara 07-21-2008, 11:10 PM I live on Miramar (we're navy.. hubby is stationed at 32nd street) We live in the townhomes and absolutelty love it! I love the area, I love being on base, all the activities, the base itself offers, the fact I can walk to our Dr, the theater, the commisarry, mcx, starbucks, bank, post office, mcdonalds etc. Carrielh 07-22-2008, 12:08 AM We live in Serra Mesa and we love it here. Your close to everything and it's a good neighborhood. JustMrsJoann 07-22-2008, 07:49 AM Why can't you post his rank? Edited to say that his rank wouldn't make much of a difference anyway. I didn't think we were allowed to post it on the board.. and I know that some of the places when I'm looking around on the websites are for officers and such. chollas hieghts is where we live. theyre really nice. at least check them out. :) were right by a lake and tons of stores. That's one that we have down on our list. I live on Miramar (we're navy.. hubby is stationed at 32nd street) We live in the townhomes and absolutelty love it! Thank you so much for all your help! mary79 07-22-2008, 04:22 PM I live in Bayview. I love my house . The school is right here in housing and its a pretty good school. The only thing I do not like is that we are really close to National City . We try to stay away from that area . We do most of our shopping in Chula Vista , East Lake or Bonita area. MelissaMc424 07-22-2008, 05:32 PM I didn't think we were allowed to post it on the board.. and I know that some of the places when I'm looking around on the websites are for officers and such. There's nothing barring you from posting rank... Most of the housing here is either E1-E6 or E1-E9... :wink We're in Lofgren Terrace.. I like it much better than the dinky little place we saw at Bayview and it's in a much nicer surrounding area. No central air, but you're allowed window units.. Meghann 07-22-2008, 09:01 PM :hi We lived in Bayview off Corral Gum Ct and loved the inside of the house but HATED the location! It's a cul-de-sac that drops off to a cliff down to Paradise Valley Rd, so we had a terrible problem with mice. :scared We loved the housing area itself and would definitely go back if we needed to, but we would stay as far away from that side as possible. :lol We were in a two bedroom, 1 bath and my only complaint was that the one bathroom had 2 doors -- one from the main part of the house and one in the master bedroom. Don't get me wrong, it was wonderful having easy access to the bathroom from our bedroom but you couldn't lock the bathroom door from inside the bedroom, only from the bathroom, so if we had company we had to trust that they wouldn't open that door and go into our bedroom (the "walk in" closet led to the bathroom). I totally miss the size of the kitchen and living room in that house; they were HUGE!! I also miss the ice maker in the freezer (these newer houses at the Village at NTC don't have that :mumble). The other huge perk to living there is how easy it is to get to 32nd St. You drive a few miles down 8th St directly into the gate, it's fantastic! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! :mrgreen JustMrsJoann 07-24-2008, 02:49 PM What other places would you recommened? We do have a cat, and a kid.
