How do you feel about this statement:

"If we didn't turn ourselves into an oil-needy country and turn to the Middle East for this crutch then we wouldn't be in this situation [the war, anti-terrorism, etc]. They wouldn't even know who we are [the USA] are let alone care about what we do."

I just wish people would realize we don't need oil so badly.
