I know that you used to be able to transfer funds with immediate availability after transfer ( from an outside account ie different bank) then they changed it to make you wait 3-7 business days before you can use those funds.. Well I guess they changed it back because I just did an outside bank transfer and have no red pending hold on my account.. I wonder if they made exceptions for people.. :thinking

I can't. I asked why and they told me to open a credit card with them which I think is ridiculous. We have savings/checking and our insurance (renters and car with them). I don't want another credit card.......

so we kept navy fed open and I use that for checks etc.

I've transferred funds from Navy Fed to USAA (DH is using USAA for deployment) since April and whatever date I make the transfer, it'll be available the next business day (M-F) usually by noon.

Yeah, I can't either because we are overseas... I don't understand, I thought USAA was military friendly? Other than that I love USAA.

There are a few USAA reps that scout the boards, so hopefully they'll see this and can answer for you guys!

I have to say nope to both the transfer and the deposit@home. We signed up for USAA at the beginning of August because we have heard great things from everyone that uses them. We were faced with policy changes in both of those areas.

First, we can't use deposit at home unless we have a line of credit AND insurance through USAA or are pre-approved for credit AND have insurance through USAA. They said it's in response to fraud complaints...?

Then, we transfer automatically every paycheck from our joint checking to my personal checking and it takes 2-3 business days for the transfer to hit. That's how it was the first two transfers anyway. I'm thinking to open a checking with USAA for myself and getting rid of my other bank, but I really like my credit union as its part of Disney employee benefits and I get really great rates through them. :shrug :thinking

Other than those 2 things, we love USAA.

That is so weird b/c we don't have credit with them (no loans, no cards, notta) and we have always had access to the home deposit, which is always automatically put right into our account.

Torie, are you talking about transfers from another bank taking a few days? Or was it just from one USAA account to another?

We transfer money from savings to checking and to our kids' account all of the time with no holding time or wait for any of them. They are all automatic.

i know i'm not torie but i think she is talking about interbank transfers ( which is what i was talking about)
Now i can transfer without the wait. for awhile i had to wait about 3 days if i did an interbank transfer. But if i transfer between USAA accounts it is immediate.
