I can't get over how much apt's or houses/duplexes cost to rent in the area east of Seattle (like Marysville, Everett, Bothell)! At least $1250 for a 3 bed. In Vancouver, WA, it wouldn't cost that much!

I would really hate to pay $1200+ for an apt, but w/ the cost of housing, it makes me wonder how much utilities are.

For those that live in a 2 bed or more and have kids/husband and live in a house, how much are your utilities usually? I'm talking gas/heat/electricity.

We live on post, so I really don't know, but rent out here is expensive! I hope you find something that fits your needs!

Seattle raped me for 5 years. I loved living there but it was so expensive to live in a decent place!

We could live in northern or eastern part of Tacoma or around there, but that doesn't look too much cheaper either. Unless I want to live somewhere ghetto fabulous. I had seen the prices before we decided on the job, but it still surprises me. It's about the same here, but I guess I just expected it to be a bit cheaper since south western part of Wa was.

$1250 for a 3 bedroom is about right these days.

We live in a 3 bedroom apartment that is pretty large. I would say the highest our light bill has ever been is around $150 and that was in the dead of summer when the air was running non-stop. The lowest was round $70, but both of the guys were out to sea. Our water hoovers around $40 a month.

Usually it's just the 3 of us, but we've also had a roomie for the past year and it didn't really affect much other than the water bill a little bit. And we run the dishwasher and washer and dryer a lot!!

So were in a 4bd house we are all electric. I pay in the winter with PSE $175.00 but we use allot more than we should during the summer we pay around $60.00. The water and sewer every two months is $130.00 and garbage is $75.00 every four months with Robanco.

That's not bad! We ended up deciding to rent a 3 bed apt in Lynnwood, at least for 6 months or so, so we can see a possible house in person instead of just relying on internet pictures. But that's good to read what you pay.

Yea, when I lived in Seattle my bill was $200-$300 a month during the winter for a tiny studio.

:shock

I will literally shit a brick if our bill comes out way higher than that!! We'll be wearing 5 layers of clothes in the winter if that's the case.

Thank you! My cousin lives in Fife and she offered as well, but I appreciate your offer.

It's off of 164th St SW, by Maple Park, I guess.

I think I'm going to look into some other areas (that are away from Seattle area) today that I found online. See if they are cheaper. It makes me nervous to know how expensive electricity is out there on top of the water and that. I didn't realize it would be so costly. I knew Seattle area was a bit more than Vancouver, but I wasn't expecting so much more. It sounds like it's like living in the city of Chicago!

usually living near a big city is more $$$ but seeing how the areas all around seattle ae thriving and have major corps there it will be the same.

Be thankful you arent moving to dc!

My DH is IRR now. I did find a great place but it was first come, first serve to military...damn you all! :vent (just kidding!)

We actually decided today (well, I guess I did :giggle) to turn the other place down. It was great, but it will rape us financially. I ended up finding a 2 bed in Renton and w/ the water & garbage included, it will save us about $300 a month. It got a lot of great reviews, so I am going to trust it's ok (my cousin is going to look at it). It will suck to live in a 2 bed still :mumble, but $300 g's less is better!
