Ok, so DB got to call at a normal time today from Iraq (but I was taking a nap so he STILL woke me up). Every time he calls he sounds worse. This is his fourth time over there, he said its never been this bad. He's getting very depressed, and I have no idea what to say to him. Does anyone have a suggestion? It hurts my heart to hear the pain in his voice, please help me!

All you can really do is support him. Let him vent to you if need be. Just be there to listen. Its really hard on our guys sometimes. Mine got real depressed after the ship he was on extended indefinatly 20 days before returning home from a 6 month cruise. It was awful not have a date he was coming home. I hated hearing the sadness and frusteration in his voice but I knew I had to be strong for him and I needed to just let him vent his frusterations to me.
Do you have an address for him? I found sending mine care packages often helped him get a taste of home. And he loved it. He told me that every box he recieved was like getting a huge hug from me, Maybe make up some care packages, send some cards etc. That might help lift his spirits some.
G'luck!
