unfortunately yes i know exactly what they mean. you ever see teenagers nowadays in the mall with the really weird looking haircuts? like purposefully lopsided and usually 2 different colors like blonde and black? that's scene hair and IMO, it's hideous. :sick

My hair is purposefully lopsided. :tears

Now I know what you REALLY think about me :P

It's been around forever, though the new name for it disturbs me. It's been at least ten years that kids have been doing their hair that way, mine was like that forever...and then I got sick of it. Now it's the new big fad, but it will pass...and the same kids who always had it will still always have it. Just like mohawks or anything else.

I only know this because I teach junior high. They have their bangs in their eyes and the girls often have have it big, poofy, and layered.

I like scene hair most of the time. There are extremes but for the most part it's not bad :)

Me too. When I first got out of the Navy I had my hair cut in an extreme stacked bob. The front was shoulder length the layers were stacked and extremely short in the back. Then it was dyed burgundy with dark purple highlights. I LOVED it and I miss it.

I just never heard of it. It looks cute ( the 'not extreme kinds'), sadly i'm probably too old to partake in that particular style.

My sis had that before it was the emo thing to do. It looked nice. Now it looks like they hack the hell out of your hair and try to make it look as shitty as possible. :no

My little brother is still in high school and he's told me about "scene kids." Apparently they have emo fashion sense without the slit wrists and crying. And they take the fashion a little further - tight pants, eyeliner, etc.

there's one haircut where the whole head is shaved except for bangs.....now THAT'S ugly. Like fugly.

It's called a Chelsea...and I had it for years, right after I ditched my mohawk.

Man, y'all must think I'm really hideous, every hairstyle that gets the YUCK is one I've had :rofl

There's a difference between having the pixie face to rock those haircuts and having a face where you need hair.

The girl in the mall last night needed hair.

you must post a pic!!!

Sadly I have no pics I am over weight and always make sure I am the one holding the camera. If I can lose the weight I am going to do some funky hair and THEN I will show off in a pic.

I am am old enough (and lucky enough to have lived in England during the 80's) scene hair to me is just this generation of kids version of 80's punk. I have postcards from Piccadilly circus and the hair is the same then for the most part (save a mohawk or two) that it was THEN. I kind of sorta love how fashion rewinds like that. My mom loves how everything she loved to wear in the 70's and 80's has come back with a vengeance. I saw a girl the other day sporting a outfit that was ripped straight from Madonna's like a virgin world tour. She had on a pair of Doc's, tights, a tulle petty skirt and a tank. Brought back fond memories.

That's what I keep hearing, and seeing in stores. I recently went to a clothing store with my little sister and I swear it was like a time warp! Hot pink stilettos, off the shoulder shirts, layers, leg warmers...
